TEXAS, UVALDE: Miah Cerrillo, an 11-year-old survivor of the Texas school shooting, has shared the survival strategy she used while the shooting occurred at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde on Tuesday, May 24.
Cerrillo’s family claims she splashed a friend’s blood on herself and pretended to be dead after Salvador Ramos, an 18-year-old terrorist, murdered 19 students and two teachers. According to reports, she feigned to be dead by lying on top of her friend, who was still breathing despite being shot. Cerrillo made herself look wounded by using the blood of another female companion.

“Miah obtained some blood and applied it to herself to make it appear as if she had died. My sister-in-law claimed that [Miah] saw her companion covered in blood and went out to get some for herself. The fourth-grader was deeply shaken after witnessing her teacher and pals being shot to death.
“My sister-in-law called me at midnight, crying and said, ‘I think it just hit Miah.’ Everything, I believe, has come to fruition. We’ve arrived at our destination, and she’s crying and having a panic attack.’ At this moment, all we have to do is pray and beg God to assist us in moving forward in this scenario. I know it’s traumatic, and having experienced it myself as an 11-year-old, I can’t image how she’s feeling “Rivera elaborated.

Cerrillo’s left side, from her neck to her back, was lacerated by small bullet pieces, and her hair was singed by gunfire, according to the Washington Post. Doctors cleansed and treated the cuts at the hospital but opted not to remove the shards. She was released from the military on Tuesday evening and spent the night terrified, urging her father to get his rifle because “he’s coming to get us.”
According to The New York Times, “Around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, the first report of a gunman approaching the school was received. The gunman, Salvador Ramos, 18, had shot his 66-year-old grandmother in the face in her home just a few streets from the school and then smashed his pickup truck into a ditch near the school.” According to Ramos’ text messages, he was arguing with his grandma about his phone bill.

Ramos allegedly dodged a school resource officer and two cops on his way inside the school with one AR-15 weapon. The shooter holed himself in a classroom full of youngsters for an hour after invading the premises. The SWAT squad struggled to get access to the classroom and had to wait for a staffer to retrieve a key and provide them admission.
