After the death of his 64-year-old mother, Barbara Waite, Ryan Grantham, a guest star on Riverdale, pled guilty to second-degree murder in March. Her autopsy revealed that she died of a single gunshot wound to the head, fired by her own son Ryan from a very close distance. The bizarre episode, as well as the cause for the murder, shocked the entire country, which had always seen the young actor as a real-life innocent charmer.
On March 31, 2020, the former actor shot and killed his mother in their Squamish townhouse. He then planned a slaughter or perhaps the assassination of the prime minister. Grantham began a new murder spree on March 5, 2020, after recently shooting his own mother. As a possible murder weapon, he had an SFU car with a shotgun. During this trip, however, his plans altered, and he went to Vancouver Police Headquarters in East Vancouver late at night, when he was approached by a police officer in a police car. “I killed my mother,” he informed the cop.
