Kevin Eldon: Bio, Wiki, Age, Family, Wife, Career, Net Worth (2023) and More

In a self-deprecating manner, he is sometimes referred to as “the actor Kevin Eldon.”

Over the course of the past three decades, he has been a consistent presence in both leading and supporting roles in a wide variety of comedies that have been commercially successful.

He began his career as a character-based stand-up comedian, with his most renowned and popular creation being political poet Paul Hamilton.

Subsequently, he collaborated with many of the most well-known figures in British comedy and television before moving on to other projects.

Early work with Stewart Lee and Richard Herring (most notably playing dysfunctional hobbyist Simon Quinlack) led to subsequent successful collaborations with Julia Davies (as put-upon and not actually dead husband Terry in Nighty Night and more recently in Award winning Sky Atlantic series Hunderby), Armando Iannucci, Steve Coogan, and Chris Morris.

Kevin Eldon: Who Is He?

He has appeared in practically every important British comedy series in some form of another, including appearances in Brass Eye, Smack the Pony, Spaced, Black Books, Saxondale, I’m Alan Partridge, Nighty Night, Green Wing, Nathan Barley, Harry and Paul and the iconic Big Train & Jam.

He previously collaborated with Charlie Brooker on the five episodes of the horror thriller Dead Set, which aired on E4, and more recently, the two of them worked together again on the show How TV Ruined Your Life.

In addition to that, he appeared in an episode of the critically acclaimed series Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle.

Kevin has achieved a great deal of success with his own solo projects, in addition to the fact that he is an outstanding collaborator.

In addition, he has produced two series of his own sketch show on Radio 4, titled Kevin Eldon Will See You Now, as well as creating and starring in his own sketch show on BBC2 called It’s Kevin, which received positive reviews.

Because Kevin is able to play such a wide variety of roles, the radio format suits him very well, and he is a fan favorite on BBC Radio 4 both when he is performing as himself and when he is acting in dramatized roles.

Kevin Eldon: Bio

Kevin’s birthday is October 2nd, 1959 and he was born in Chatham. He is currently 63 years old. By 1980, the actor had relocated to Southampton, having previously called Medway town home.

In the latter half of 1978, he and two other classmates from Bay House School in Gosport established a band that they called Virginia Doesn’t.

After a performance that was broadcast on the John Peel Show on Radio One on October 18, 1979, the band’s career reached its zenith.

At the beginning of the 1980s, Virginian Doesn’t morphed into The Time, with Kevin serving as the band’s leader once more.

His time spent in front of the band earned him a half page in Oliver Gray’s book Volume, which is a chronicle of the punk era in Southampton.

Later on in life, Kevin decided to pursue a career in comedy and began performing stand-up in the early 1990s.

He put on a performance in which his character, Paul Hamilton, the political poet, was the focus. During this period, he got to know stand-up comic Stewart Lee and eventually became friends with him.

Following that, Lee and Herring collaborated with Stewart’s comedic sidekick Richard Herring to create the radio series “Lee & Herring’s Fist of Fun.”

Eldon was adamant about the fact that he was an actor and not a comic, thus Herring and Lee would affectionately refer to him as “the actor Kevin Eldon.”

As a film actor, Kevin has enjoyed a great deal of success, but the opportunity to collaborate with Martin Scorsese on the film Hugo, which was nominated for an Academy Award and won, and to star alongside Sacha Baron Cohen in a scene that stole the show was his greatest accomplishment to date.

Among his other credits are the BAFTA-winning film Four Lions and the BAFTA-nominated film Arthur Christmas, both directed by Chris Morris.

Among his other film credits are Hot Fuzz and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, both of which were directed by Tim Burton.

In August 2014, Kevin’s biography of his poet character Paul Hamilton was released by Faber and Faber.

It has been said that “the elusive story of this hapless poet whose work has been snubbed by the poetry community and publishers for years” best describes the novel My Prefect Cousin (sic).

Alongside Alexander Armstrong and Dave Lamb, Eldon will provide the voice for the character Penfold in the long-awaited revival of Danger Mouse on BBC. It is scheduled to be broadcast on CBBC in the year 2015.
