She has been named to the Palomar League All-Star team twice and is also a San Diego County All-Star. She was also named All-San Diego Section as a senior, and she was the team’s defensive MVP for three years in a row, with a county-leading 395 digs out of 200 tries.
She has also been recognized twice by the San Diego Union-Tribune for her work with Epic Volleyball, which finished 11th at the Junior Olympics in 2006 and 2008. In 2007, after helping her team win a bronze medal at the High-Performance Championship, she was named to the all-tournament team.

Head coach Salima Rockwell has named Lauren Plum as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2022 season. She became a teacher after getting her bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon and playing music around the world for six years.
She has worked as an assistant coach at the University of Arizona and Villanova before coming to Notre Dame. From 2014 to 2020, she played in Germany, France, and Puerto Rico before becoming a college coach.
From 2010 to 2014, Lauren went to Oregon, where she got two All-America awards from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and Volleyball Magazine. The athlete was the PAC-12 Setter of the Year in 2012 and led Oregon to the 2012 National Championship match, which they lost to Texas in.
Her name is all over the Oregon record books because she holds the records for most assists in a single game (75) and most assists in a season.
Plum is the team leader at Oregon in terms of total assists (5,213) and assists per set. He is also sixth in terms of total service aces. Plum was chosen for the PAC-12 All-Star Team in 2013, which played China.

Early years
Plum is Katie and Jim Plum’s daughter. Her mother was a good volleyball player for the University of California, Davis. Her father played high school football in La Mesa, California, and was named an All-American. He then played college football and baseball at San Diego State. Plum has two sisters who are older and a brother who is younger. Both of her sisters played volleyball, just like their mother did. Kaitlyn, her oldest sister, played volleyball for UC Davis, while Lauren played for both the University of Oregon and the USA Junior National Team. Daniel, who was younger, played football at UC Davis. Kelsey started out playing volleyball and did well in the USA Volleyball junior system. When it was time for high school, she chose La Jolla Country Day School over Poway High School, where her sisters had gone, and Plum chose basketball over volleyball. Candice Wiggins played at La Jolla Country Day School when she was in high school.
Years in high school
Plum scored a total of 2,247 points in high school, which is 19.9 points per game on average. She had 677 rebounds, helped 381 baskets go in, and stole 370 balls. During her four years, her team went 103–22, which helped them win four section titles and the CIF Division IV state championship in 2012.
Plum made the WBCA High School Coaches’ All-America Team for 2013. She played in the 2013 WBCA High School All-America Game and scored 14 points by making six of the eight field goals she tried.
When it was time to choose a college, Plum looked at Maryland and Virginia on the east coast, as well as Cal, Gonzaga, Oregon, and Washington on the west coast. In the end, she decided to go to Washington.

Team Pan American 2015
Plum got hurt in December, but he was given the all-clear to keep playing for the rest of the season. After the season, on April 6, she had surgery. Her original dates for being cleared to play went past the date of the Pan American team trials, but her recovery went well, and she was cleared to play two days before the Pan American team trials. She is one of the twelve people chosen to play basketball for the US at the 2015 Pan American Games, which will be held in Toronto from July 16 to July 25 at the Ryerson Athletic Centre.
Plum played basketball for the USA Women’s Pan American Team at the 2015 Pan American Games, which were held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, from July 10 to July 26, 2015. The USA’s first game in the preliminary round was against Brazil. Even though they went up by 16 points in the second quarter, Brazil came back and went on a 14–0 run to take a two-point lead in the third quarter. The USA then went on a run of 11–2 with help from Jefferson’s free throws and Stewart’s three-point basket. In the end, the USA won a close game 75–69.
The Dominican Republic was the team they played in the second game. USA got the first eight points, and they were never in danger after that. USA won 94–55. Plum had the most help for his team, with five. In the last game of the first round, USA played Puerto Rico. USA only had a three-point lead at the end of the third quarter, thanks in large part to Carla Cortijo’s play. Cortijo scored 24 points, but she had to leave the game because she hurt herself. After the injury, the US grew their lead to 18 points and won the game 93–77, which put them in first place in their group.
During the third quarter of the semifinal game, Cuba was ahead of the US by as many as 14 points. The USA fought back and took the lead late in the game. With less than eight seconds left, Cuba had the ball and the USA was down by one point. Linnae Harper stole the ball and made two free throws to put the USA ahead. Cuba’s last shot missed, giving the USA a 65–64 win and a spot in the gold-medal game against Canada.
In the gold-medal game, the host country, Canada, played against the USA. Early on, both teams traded baskets, but by the end of the first quarter, the US had pulled ahead by 10 points. But the Canadians fought back, and at halftime, the score was tied. Canada beat the US 26–15 in the third quarter. As much as 18 points would put them in front. The USA would fight back, but not all the way. Canada won the game and the gold medal 81–73.
