During his amateur career, he played for the Premier Baseball League of Ontario’s Ontario Blue Jays (PBLO). This travel baseball team was made up of the best young players in all of Ontario. They played in tournaments all over North America.
Naylor went to school in Mississauga, Ontario, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Secondary School. He joined the Canadian junior national baseball team when he was 15, and at the Under-18 Baseball World Cup in South Korea in 2012, he won the silver medal.
