Review of “Keeping Up With the Joneses: The Wrong Nemesis”: Joneses will do whatever it takes to defend family
The matriarch has returned with her four stepdaughters, bringing both fresh enemies and supporters.

Lifetime welcomed back “Keeping Up With the Joneses” in July with Season 2 and a string of action-packed movies for a special occasion. The first episode, titled “The Wrong Nemesis,” debuted exclusively on LMN on Friday, July 8, 2022, at 8/7c.

The popular TV show performed a terrific job of keeping fans interested in the upcoming chapters. It is set to air four Fridays in a row this month with two-hour chapters. After getting high praise for their debut season, “The Wrong Valentine” actress Vivica A. Fox is back as the matriarch of a wealthy family, along with her four stepdaughters, who will stop at nothing to preserve their family’s and business’s reputation as they confront difficulties. In addition to Kandi Burruss, Ciarra Carter, Arie Thompson, Michael Pare, and Ted McGinley, the cast of David DeCoteau’s film “Keeping Up With The Joneses” also includes Ciarra Carter, Arie Thompson, Michael Pare, and Ted McGinley. Sam Schweikert, Shellie Sterling, Marcos James, and Jasmine Aivaliotis are among the outstanding cast members.

The latest offering from Lifetime Movie Network, “Keeping Up With the Joneses: The Wrong Nemesis,” is exactly what you’d expect from a network with a knack for creating programming that keeps viewers glued to their televisions. The Jones family, the closest thing the Pacific Hills has to the Royals, and their attempt to pick themselves up after a devastating occurrence are at the heart of the story. With a little assistance from the family’s attorney, Sheldon (Michael Paré), Robin (Vivica A. Fox), who recently married Webb (Ted McGinley), is set to inherit yet another fortune. The Joneses’ newfound income, which they entirely attribute to the family attorney, will enable them to support society through new humanitarian initiatives. Others, however, do not hold the family’s charitable act in the same regard as they would like to.

For the time being, the Jones family is content with the peace, but danger always finds a way in. The family business has never been important to Carrie (Ciarra Carter). Her charitable efforts have been focused. However, she wants to take over her role in the company now that Lance (Williams) is by her side and acting as a full partner. Now that they can wager on the price of water, Lance advises the Joneses to make a deal with some of the city’s landowners. The Jones family could gain millions of dollars if they owned the land and had control over the water. This small request opens the door for Lance to join the family.

Now that the younger sister is enrolled in community college, Tara (Jasmine Aivaliotis) meets Richard, a charming and naive professor who quickly gets involved in an extramarital relationship. Tara learns the truth about her professor and his ambition to use the Joneses’ wealth and family name for romantic purposes. From this point on, the two are competing against one another, with the professor pushing on his scheme to make a fortune with Tara and the young Joneses sister standing her ground against the trick. In addition, Pam’s yet-to-be-met estranged daughter has been keeping tabs on her as she looks to increase their real estate with their new clean drinking water initiative.

Keeping Up With the Joneses: The Wrong Nemesis still (Lifetime Movie Network)

In contrast, Mama Joneses has a private meeting with Lance to discuss his intentions for her stepdaughter and how he can help them with the new project. In contrast, Kayla (Shellie Sterling) meets Carter (Sam Schweikert) in the bar, and he charms her into letting him inside her home. In a later chapter of the narrative, it is made clear that he was hired by none other than Kayla’s fiancé, William French (Marcos James). He enlisted Carter to help him get items he could use to harm the Joneses or, at the very least, Kyla.

Pam meets Stephen Napoli, the CEO of the construction firm constructing the new water facility for the family’s new project, played by Chris Cleveland. Sheldon, the family lawyer, has doubts about Lance and his intentions for the Jones family, which is compounding the familial and business issues. He talks to Robin and expresses his worry, warning her that her recent charitable initiatives might attract unwelcome attention. The water project eventually starts, assuring her that she knows what she’s doing and who to believe, only for it to be vandalized earlier than anticipated. As MotherEarth, a radical environmentalist organization, is eliminated as the Joneses’ initial suspect, Stephen helps Pam figure out who or what is trying to destroy their business/philanthropic endeavor.

At the same time that the police are still looking for Webb’s body, Pam’s estranged daughter Eve Prescott arrives at Pam’s place of employment. Pam, who had given her daughter away at birth, is shocked by the entire experience and asks Sheldon for clarification. When Sheldon is unable to explain why Eve has chosen to appear after all these years and decides to open up to her family, Pam is left in a difficult situation. While the family appears to be behind Pam, some of them look dubious about Eve’s plan to come back.

The series’ climax, which also serves as a preview for the next installment, in which it is discovered that Webb is NOT DEAD, must be considered the most exciting section of “The Wrong Nemesis.” He has long been planning and preparing for his comeback to regain what he feels is properly his. Pam presents her daughter Eve to the rest of the family in the second installment of the series, “Keeping Up With the Joneses: The Wrong Murder,” William meets Kayla, and Webb—who was presumed dead—returns!

We’re expecting that the vexing plotlines that aren’t resolved in a satisfying way will be addressed in the future. Additionally, the Jones family’s story isn’t over because this four-part series still has plenty of delicious drama left to offer in order for the magnificent characters to try to tie up any remaining loose ends in the story. The actors continue to be adept at bringing their roles to life, and the writing contributes by allowing some characters to reveal new sides of themselves as the action intensifies. Black performers make up the majority of the cast. Additionally, the supporting cast is very diverse. Since it can be difficult to keep up with the Joneses after a year-long break, this movie is applauded for stating everyone’s name and relationship right away.
