It will continue in Toronto through November 17th.

Information on Dream Theater

Majesty, an American progressive metal band, became Dream Theater in 1985. The group was founded by John Petrucci, John Myung, and Mike Portnoy while they were students at Boston’s Berklee College of Music. To focus on their band, which eventually gained fame as Dream Theater, the band’s members dropped out of college.

Guitarist Petrucci, bassist Myung, singer James LaBrie, keyboardist Jordan Rudess, and drummer Mike Mangini make up the band at the moment. The only original band members who have remained active with the group since its formation are Petrucci and Myung. 2010 saw Portnoy’s resignation.

The group has so far put out fifteen studio albums, the best-selling of which is 1992’s Images and Words. The song The Alien from the band’s 2021 album, A View from Top of the World, most recently won the group their first Grammy for Best Metal Performance.

On August 10th, Dream Theater gave a different performance in Indonesia. On August 14, they are scheduled to perform at the Download Festival in Japan before starting the South American part of their tour. Portnoy will, however, only tour with John Petrucci in North America.
