On Saturday, 29-year-old Ayobiyi Cook was slain in Forestdale. Police in Birmingham reported that she had been shot, and that gunshot wound injuries were the cause of death.
One woman was recently shot while her children were present in her own home. The wife of a police officer was eventually revealed to be the woman.
The victim’s children were unharmed, but their mother passed away from the gunshot wound. Even though the cops arrived right away, it was already too late.

According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Ayobiyi Abeni Cook of Forestdale was shot during an alleged attack within her own property. One suspect has been identified. The 911 call was made before he was seen running.
Many of Cook’s friends are paying respect to her on her Facebook page. Many people, including her, spoke about their difficult experiences.
When a 911 caller in the Forestdale neighborhood requested help at a home on Freemont Avenue, Jefferson County deputies went to the scene. Cook was pronounced dead there and then.
According to Deputy Chief David Agee, Ayobiyi’s residence was not invaded. According to some authorities, a male was seen leaving the home before the 911 call was placed. Sheriff’s detectives are moving quickly with their investigation after finding evidence on the scene.
Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates stated that a homicide is being investigated in this death.
