When Lawrence V. Ray was released from jail in New Jersey in 2010, he went immediately to Sarah Lawrence College, where his daughter Talia was a student. Isabella Pollok was also a student at Sarah Lawrence College at the time. This is how the two of them met.
She was among a group of Talia’s friends and roommates who became influenced by Mr. Ray over the course of the following decade. Crimes Of Mr. Ray
In April, Mr. Ray was found guilty of more than a dozen crimes, including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and extortion. Ms. Pollok, age 31, whose case had been severed from his but who faced some of the same charges, was out on bail and had been expected to stand trial in the near future in the Federal District Court in Manhattan. Net Worth Of Mr. Ray
According to Ms. Drury’s testimony, Mr. Ray encouraged her to become a prostitute, and she finally did so. Over the course of approximately four years, she gave Mr. Ray approximately $2.5 million in earnings.
Ms. Drury stated that delivering such earnings to Ms. Pollok became a ritual for her, and that she occasionally did so by giving her cash in the parking lot of a White Castle restaurant located in the state of New Jersey.
After what she described as an incident in the fall of 2018 at the Gregory Hotel in Manhattan in which Mr. Ray allegedly put a plastic bag over her head while she fought to breathe and then threatened to murder her, Ms. Drury ultimately decided to end her relationship with Mr. Ray for good.
Ms. Drury testified that during that visit, Mr. Ray choked her with a leash and collar, “smothered” her with a pillow, placed her next to an air conditioner while she was tied to a chair, and poured cold water over her body. Ms. Drury also stated that Mr. Ray poured cold water over her body.
Ms. Pollok was present in the hotel room, Ms. Drury testified, making a disturbing audio recording that would later be presented in court and taking a break with Mr. Ray for burgers and fries at a nearby diner. Ms. Drury stated that at one time, Ms. Pollok accused her of faking her sadness in order to gain attention.
