Things could go sideways again in the follow-up season. The characters have grown more complex during the first six episodes. While the first season’s ending does the characters a disservice by not pulling them out of their shells, it also keeps the audience on their toes. Ben and Rani’s relationship may be resolved in the second season, when they become more intimate. God willing, Rani may return to Oxford, while Esme may finally comprehend the consequences of her conduct.
Esme has the option of retaking the exam she failed the first time. She and Ben might even be reunited with their mother, who is ill. By using a vote, Myrna re-enters her group at the end of the first season. However, another police vehicle hijacking could put her in danger. We’d also like to see if Gabby manages to organise her music festival and if she marries sad-sack nerd Greg.
