I Got Depressed After Losing My Daughter, Six Siblings – Ada Ameh

Actress Ada Ameh, who is known for her work in Nollywood, recently discussed her struggles with depression, revealing that the loss of her daughter and six of her children was the catalyst for her condition.

An interview with media personality Morayo Afolabi-Brown that was broadcast on the Your View TV show on Friday featured Ada talking about the ordeal she went through.

According to the actress who plays Ladi in The Johnsons, she had been suffering from depression for a number of years prior to her daughter Ladi’s passing, and the loss of her best friend and sister made her feel as though her entire world had come crashing down around her.

The woman, now 48 years old, also revealed that she had lost six siblings prior to the passing of Ladi.

She stated, “I have depression; I have been depressed for some years, but it became much worse when I lost my daughter in 2020.” She had been depressed for some time prior to this event. When I had her, I was 14 years old; she was my best friend and my sister; I watched as my entire world collapsed in front of me.

“I had suffered the loss of all six of my siblings: three sisters, three brothers. When my younger sister passed away, I was sure that it would be my turn next, and I’ve been in and out of the hospital ever since.

Last year, on the one-year anniversary of her daughter’s passing, Ada Ameh paid a visit to the gravesite where she was buried.

The operation that was performed on Ladi did not succeed, and she passed away on October 20th, 2020 in Abuja. On October 31, she was laid to rest in the Gwarinpa area of Abuja.
