Killer of duck sauce Glenn Hirsch was discovered dead in her Queens apartment
According to his lawyer, the famed duck sauce killer, who is charged with shooting a deliveryman for a restaurant, was found dead in his Queens home early on Friday after apparently committing suicide.
Glenn Hirsch, 51, shot himself before a Friday morning court appearance while he was out on bond, according to law enforcement officials who talked to The Washington Post.
In a long, somewhat incomprehensible suicide note, he asserted his innocence and denied being responsible for the murder of Zhiewn Yan on April 30. For more information, keep reading.
Death by Duck Sauce Glenn Hirsch’s Cause of Death
Detectives were called to Glenn Hirsch’s residence after the suspect missed a court appointment on Friday, and they reportedly found him dead there. Hirsch’s cause of death will be determined by an autopsy, the official said.
Hirsch’s new legal representative, Arthur Aidala, claims that the alleged murderer shot himself. Despite speaking with Hirsch two days previously, according to Aidala, he and his client unable to reach each other on the phone yesterday.
Hirsch did not show up for court on Friday, so the judge asked the sheriff’s department to visit Hirsch at his 141st Street apartment in Jamaica to see how he was doing. Since June, an ankle tag has been used to track his movements while he’s been missing.
Zhiwen Yan, 45, was first ordered held without bail after he was killed in Forest Hills on April 30.
Judge Kenneth Holder of the Queens Criminal Court changed the bail guidelines on June 8 and set the bond amount at $500,000. Hirsch made the significant payment and was fired with the strict direction to stay at home.

Glenn Hirsch reportedly killed himself, according to reports. According to Jennifer Wu, the family’s pro bono lawyer, who talked to The Post, Yan’s family is “horrified” by his suicide.
The resident of Queens asserted that Yan, who worked there as a delivery man, shorted him on duck sauce for an order placed the previous year, which resulted in an ongoing argument between the two parties.
Hirsch, who the restaurant owner claimed had repeatedly harassed him and his crew, allegedly wrecked the owner’s car and entered the establishment in January with a revolver. He questioned the waiters in the restaurant, “Do you remember me?”
Detectives found a substantial supply of condiments inside the man’s refrigerator, which was also “stocked with duck sauce,” a senior police source told The Post in June.
According to police, security footage allegedly captures Yan driving his car along Great Wall hours before he was fatally murdered and then following the delivery man to his subsequent food delivery. Yan was found bleeding on the sidewalk with a chest wound.

Hirsch, 51, was detained on June 2 on suspicion of killing Yan after stalking the delivery man and other staff members of the Great Wall Restaurant for weeks due to Yan’s desire for additional duck sauce during a previous visit to the restaurant. Hirsch was detained on this charge on June 2.
The Queens DA referred to the peculiar beef as a “obsessive bone of conflict.”
Hirsch reportedly made numerous passes around the area surrounding the restaurant on the night of the murder. He allegedly shot Yan dead in the street after following him as he left on a scooter to make a delivery.
