“Girl in the Picture,” directed by Skye Borgman, examines one of the strangest and most unsettling cases in the nation. Tonya Hughes, whose husband Clarence was a patient at the hospital, passed away at the beginning of the documentary. When Franklin abducted Michael from school in 1994, they already had him for a time and were almost completed with the adoption process. Franklin later admitted to killing Michael. Joe, an FBI agent, was first called in to learn where Franklin had taken Michael. Franklin was only known as Clarence at the time. But Joe’s research proved it to be an alias, which brought about a number of additional unsettling events. In the end, his tireless efforts resulted in Franklin’s capture and conviction for kidnapping Michael. Joe, nevertheless, persisted in his quest to learn Tonya’s true identity (later revealed to be Suzanne Sevakis). Joe collaborated with writer Matt Birkbeck after leaving the FBI. She eventually provided testimony during his kidnapping of Michael trial. Since then, Jenny appears to have kept a low profile, and little is known about her current occupation. She was last seen in Georgia, as far as we can ascertain.

Heather performed as a dancer at Tampa, Florida’s well-known adult entertainment venue Mons Venus in the late 1980s. Sometime in 1988, she met Sharon (also known as Tonya and Suzanne), and the two eventually grew close. But Heather quickly saw Sharon and her father, Warren, had a troubled relationship (aka Franklin Floyd). According to the documentary, Sharon was forced by her father to provide her sexual services for $50. In fact, he had purchased condoms for her.
Sharon believed the birth mother didn’t do enough to hunt for the child when it later emerged that Warren had abducted her when she was a young toddler. Heather provided context by relating how she was abducted in 1976 and how her mother made every effort to locate her. In the end, she believed Sharon would have survived if she had escaped her captor. Sadly, though, that wasn’t the case. Since then, Heather appears to have led a secluded life, with Florida serving as her most recent known whereabouts.
What’s become of Megan Dufresne?
The third child of Suzanne was born in 1989 and was named Megan. Michael was the second kid the mother had at the time; she had previously placed the firstborn for adoption. Megan was adopted by Mary and Dean Dufresne, but she was unaware of her biological mother until much later. In the movie, Megan discussed how she could notice similarities in her mother’s childhood photos when she compared them to her own and Michael’s.
With her spouse Jacob Dufreche, Megan resides in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at the moment. One of their two kids, called Michael in honor of her brother, is one of their two children overall. After Sandra gave the children up, Cliff was given the opportunity to adopt the three children, but he declined because he was unemployed and living with his parents.
Cliff, however, never knew what happened to Suzanne and finally discovered her awful destiny years later. Since then, Sandra has avoided the spotlight and has only agreed to an interview for the Netflix documentary. She was listed as having a residence in Virginia as of 2019. Together with his wife Jan, Cliff presently resides in Bellevue, Washington. Together, they are parents to two kids. He owns a marketing business there.
