Firefly Lane Season 2: Meet The Cast and Characters and More

Netflix has announced that it will carry the second and final season of the original series Firefly Lane.

The plot of the show centers on two close friends, Sarah Chalke and Katherine Heigl, who first met when they were little children on their neighborhood, Firefly Lane, and remained close despite the many changes that occurred in their lives over the course of more than three decades.

The television show Firefly Lane is based on a book written by Kristin Hannah. It tells the story of an ambitious woman named Tully Hart (played by Katherine Heigl of Grey’s Anatomy), and her more down-to-earth best friend Kate (played by Sarah Chalke of Scrubs).

The show follows their friendship as it moves from the 1970s and 1980s to the middle of the 2000s, switching between different time periods throughout the episodes.

Newsweek has the answers to all of your questions regarding the upcoming second season of Firefly Lane, including when it will be released, who will be in it, and what the story will be about.

Firefly Lane Season 2:  Katherine Heigl (Tully Hart)

During the first season, Tully served as the ambitious host of a local talk show in Seattle called The Girlfriend Hour. In season 2, we can’t wait to watch where her career goes thanks to all of her hard work.

In addition to her role as an actress in the show, Heigl is an executive producer. She began her career in the entertainment industry at the age of nine, when she appeared in a commercial for Cheerios.

This was her debut in both film and television. Heigl is best known for her appearances on the television shows Roswell and Grey’s Anatomy. Since 2007, she has been married to the musician and songwriter Josh Kelley.

You may find her on Twitter and Instagram at @KatieHeigl and follow her there as well.

Firefly Lane Season 2: Sarah Chalke (Kate Mularkey)

Kate is a writer and producer in Seattle. She and her best friend, Tully, worked their way up the ranks together, but Kate ultimately decided to put her career on wait so that she could establish a family.

Before Tully severed their friendship after more than three decades of close friendship, she and Tully had been inseparable. This is all we know about the fight that took place.

In addition to her appearances on Scrubs and Roseanne, for which she is best known as the second Becky Connor, Sarah Chalke provides the voice for the character of Beth in the animated comedy Rick and Morty.

Ali Skovbye

Firefly Lane Season 2: Ali Skovbye (Young Tully)

Ali Skovbye was discovered when she was just 4 years old and cast in a national car advertisement. This marked the beginning of her career as an actress. After thereafter, she appeared in a film in which she had a lead supporting part alongside Michelle Pfeiffer and Kathy Bates.

You Me Her and The Man in the High Castle are only two of the previous shows this actor has worked on.

You can find Ali on Twitter under the handle @aliskovbye and on Instagram under the handle @ali.skovbye.

An interesting tidbit is that Skovbye is the younger sister of Tiera Skovbye, who stars in the television series Nurses and the soon-to-be-aired series Ride.

Roan Curtis

Firefly Lane Season 2: Roan Curtis (Young Kate)

Roan Curtis appeared on multiple episodes of The Magicians, which aired on Syfy. In addition, she has appeared in episodes of Supernatural and Smallville as a guest star.

Firefly Lane Season 2:  Ben Lawson (Johnny Ryan)

Johnny is a producer at the neighborhood television station, which is also the place where Kate and Tully got their beginnings.

He struggles with his personal problems while also attempting to maintain a professional connection with Kate, but in the end, he finds himself falling in love with her.

In the present day, he is now Kate’s husband, although they have a contentious relationship. The two individuals are working hard to keep their friendship on a positive path, but they are running into some difficulties along the way.

Ben Lawson, an Australian actor, is probably best known to fans in the United States for his performances on the television shows Designated Survivor and 13 Reasons Why, in addition to Firefly Lane.

In the year 2020, after devastating fires swept throughout Australia, Lawson penned a collection of poems titled “To My Country,” with the intention of donating the revenues to The Koala Hospital.

You can find Ben on Instagram under the handle @bennyvegas and on Twitter under the handle @imbenlawson.

Firefly Lane Season 2: Beau Garrett (Cloud)

Cloud is Tully’s mother and leads a carefree life in the clouds. Because she is so carefree, she frequently forgets that she is a mother, and as a result, Tully is the one who needs to take on the role of parent in their relationship.

In contrast to the mother-daughter connection in Absolutely Fabulous, this one is fraught with more tension than humor.

At the age of 14, Garrett began her career in the modeling industry before transitioning to the acting industry. Her roles on Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce and The Good Doctor are mostly responsible for her widespread recognition.

You can find Beau on Instagram under the handle “blackdogtravels” and on Twitter under the handle “beaujgarrett.”

Firefly Lane Season 2: Chelah Horsdal (Margie Mularkey)

Margie is the archetypal example of a normal suburban mother. The novel by Kristin Hannah was written in a more traditional style, but the adaptation for television is much more cutting edge.

Horsdal’s roles on The Man in the High Castle and Star Trek: Discovery are mostly responsible for her widespread fame.

An interesting tidbit is that Horsdal and Quinn Lord, the actor who portrays the younger version of Sean Mularkey, both had roles in The Man in the High Castle as mothers and sons.

Firefly Lane Season 2: Paul McGillion (Bud Mularkey)

Kate has a responsible father in Bud. The majority of his appearances are in the form of flashbacks to the 1970s and 1980s. In the conclusion of the first season, unlike in the source material, Bud passes away.

It seems likely that any appearances of him in season 2 will be in the form of flashbacks.

His performance as Dr. Carson Beckett in the television show Stargate: Atlantis brought McGillion the majority of his fame.

Firefly Lane Season 2: Chris McNally (Mr. Waverly)

According to Deadline, McNally will be joining the ensemble in the role of Mr. Waverly, a dynamic English instructor who challenges Kate and Tully to step outside of their comfort zones and encourages them to achieve new levels of success.

Additionally, he has been cast in the upcoming series Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, which will make its debut on the Paramount+ streaming service. There, he will also play a teacher by the name of Mr. Daniels, who gives off the impression of being a young and hip instructor but is, in fact, a villain.

He will play the role of gaslighting a 16-year-old student who he had a crush on and will then throw her under the bus in order to protect himself.

When Calls the Heart is a show that airs on the Hallmark Channel. Chris McNally plays the role of Lucas Bouchard, who owns a tavern and is an entrepreneur.

You can find Chris on social media at @chrismcnally_ on Twitter and @chrismcnally on Instagram.

Firefly Lane Season 2: Ignacio Serricchio (Danny Diaz)

Ignacio Serricchio has joined the cast and will play the role of Danny. Danny is an arrogant sportscaster and reporter who could become a romantic interest for Tully.

Danny, who is both gorgeous and brazen, and Tully are constantly engaging in verbal sparring with one another, yet beyond Danny’s cocky façade is a sensitive and ardent man.

Previous work for Serricchio includes appearances on General Hospital, Bones, and Netflix’s revival of the Lost in Space franchise.

Firefly Lane Season 2: Greg Germann

Greg Germann has joined the cast in the role of Benedict Binswanger, who will have recurrent appearances. Binswanger, the heir to a prominent logging family, decided to run for governor in the 1980s, putting his prosperous business on the line in the process.

Even though he gives off the impression of being confident, he is actually quite concerned about both his personal reputation and the reputation of his family.

He is so dedicated to protecting the good name of the Binswangers that he would stop at nothing to make sure the family secrets stay hidden.

Germann has just completed his role on Grey’s Anatomy as Dr. Tom Koracick, which spanned multiple seasons. Ned & Stacey, Chasing Life, and Once Upon a Time are among the shows that have featured his acting in the past.

Firefly Lane Season 2: India de Beaufort

India de Beaufort will be joining the cast of Firefly Lane in the role of Charlotte. Set in the mid-1980s, Charlotte is an aspiring but timid journalist who has a crush on Johnny Ryan.

She has developed into a self-assured, well-known reporter all over the world who is aware of what she wants and is willing to go after it as the years have gone by and we revisit her.

The British actress and singer appeared in the show Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist in multiple episodes. Her prior credits include episodes of the television shows Chuck, Modern Family, and Veep.

Jolene Purdy

Firefly Lane Season 2: Jolene Purdy

Justine Jordan, a bubbly talent agent who always has a plan, is portrayed by Jolene Purdy, who also portrays the role. Because Jordan is a no-nonsense person who is positive in every situation, Tully is interested in winning her support. Jordan is on the rise.

The White Lotus, WandaVision, and Superstore were among the programs on which Purdy had previously appeared.
