The late athlete flew with three teammates from Guwahati to Shillong for the 83rd Senior National and Inter-State Table Tennis Championships, which is slated to commence on Monday.
After that, a 2-wheel trailer, approaching from the opposite tack, smashed through the road barrier and hit the vehicle at Shangbangla, and plunged into the gorge. The cab driver passed on the scene while Deenadayalan was declared brought dead by the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences.
