Chris grew up in Pinner, a neighborhood in northwestern London. He started working at Radio Northwick Park at the age of 16, where he acquired experience working for Real Radio, Galaxy, Virgin Radio, and BBC 6 Music.
Before joining the radio network, he attended Watford Grammar School for his education. Christ attended the University of Southampton, where he majored in biology and politics. On the Surge student radio station there, he hosted his show.

Stark obtained experience working at stations including Galaxy, Real Radio, Virgin Radio, and BBC 6 Music before beginning his first job at Radio Northwick Park, a hospital radio station, at the age of 16. He attended Watford Grammar School before this. Stark enrolled at the University of Southampton when he was 18 years old to study politics and biology. Stark received his own show on Surge, the campus radio station, while attending Southampton.
Informally joining Scott Mills’ show since April 2, 2012, Radio 1 Stark had previously made sporadic appearances as “Scott’s friend Chris.” Stark took part in most of the ongoing segments of the program, such as Real or No Real, Innuendo Bingo, 24 Years at the Tap End, and Bamboleo Wednesday.
After 24 and 10 years on the air, respectively, it was announced that Mills and Stark will both be leaving Radio 1 on July 1, 2022.
After more than 20 years as Steve Wright’s afternoon host on BBC Radio 2, Mills left to take over, and Stark moved on to the morning program on Capital FM. The pair’s resignation from BBC Radio 5 Live after nearly three years was also confirmed by the move. In August 2022, their final programs on Radio 1 and 5 Live were aired.
In the movie 24 Years at the Tap End, Stark reads passages from his “autobiography,” which is well known (a deliberately humorous colloquial mispronunciation of “autobiography”).
Brendan Sheerin’s memoirs from Coach Trip served as the initial inspiration for him to pen his own. The title alludes to his on-air epiphany at the age of 24 that he had spent his entire life sitting at the “wrong” end of the bath. The premiere episode debuted on November 11, 2011. Stark stated in this episode that his parents had originally wanted to call him “Padraig.” Stark frequently mentions noteworthy incidents from his “years at the tap end” in the series, which frequently involve mistakes he committed and lessons he gained from experiences with his buddies. There were no plans for a third season of the show when its second season ended in 2013. A one-off special, though, debuted in January 2014 as a part of a Radio One comedy night. This late-night episode, Tap End: Unplugged, included a live performance of the theme song and was broadcast live in front of a studio audience. Due to the late airing, Stark was able to relate the entire tale of the Prague vacation he had previously mentioned, including details that were “too rude for daylight” and foul language. They were done again in 2020.
Interview with Mila Kunis
In order to do an interview with American actress Mila Kunis for the Scott Mills Show, Stark was dispatched with ten minutes’ notice to a media junket for the movie Oz the Great and Powerful in March 2013. Considering how unconventional the interview was, the sole question Stark posed to Kunis regarding the movie was, “In the kindest possible manner, did you like being ugly for once?,” alluding to the fact that Kunis’ character Theodora turns into the Wicked Witch of the West. He continued by talking about his neighborhood bar, the local football team (Watford FC), Nando’s, and drinking games with his buddies (inviting Kunis to all four). When eventually someone reminded them that they needed to conduct the interview, Kunis responded to all of the inquiries about the movie that other people had and that Stark would have asked her in a snap. Stark then sent a wedding invitation to Kunis. After being uploaded to YouTube by BBC Radio 1, the video quickly gained popularity. Stark was interviewed by American entertainment and news programs like Access Hollywood and CNN’s Starting Point with Soledad O’Brien after it received ten million views in a matter of days.
Career At Television
In November 2013, it was revealed that Channel 4 has commissioned an hour-long documentary special in which Stark will attempt to interview the stars on his ultimate wish list, including Derek Acorah, Rachel Stevens, Emma Thompson, Colin Farrell, Ricky Hatton, and Verne Troyer.
It was broadcast on February 10, 2014.
Stark served as the team captain on the E4 program Virtually Famous from 2014 to 2016.
Stark had a cameo appearance on the CBBC panel show The Dog Ate My Homework in 2015. [Reference needed] He participated in a celebrity-only Robot Wars and Celebrity Mastermind show in December 2016.
In 2017, Stark made a cameo appearance on Saturday Mash-Up! on CBBC.
Chris was revealed to have been a contestant in the seventh season of the BBC children’s game show Get Your Own Back in the episode of Saturday Mash-Up. Chris lost against Nazia, but presenter Yasmin shocked him by bringing back Andy the Barber and repaying the favor by gunging him.

Stark joined Peter Crouch and Tom Fordyce as co-hosts of the That Peter Crouch Podcast in 2018.
With the creation of more than five series, this has been successful. In 2022, the podcast made a comeback and switched from the BBC to Acast.
Stark has a spouse. Their daughter Erin was born in 2015, and Stark revealed on his radio broadcast in July 2020 that his wife Ria had given birth to their son Troy Ian Bango Stark.
