Charleston SC Kate Waring Murder Update And Where Is Ethan Mack Now

Ethan Mack makes a plea to avoid a possible life sentence just a few weeks before his retrial for the murder of Kate Waring.

An Alford Plea means that Mack doesn’t admit guilt but thinks the jury would find him guilty of manslaughter because of it.

Mack was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the death of Waring at his condo on James Island in 2009.

Scarlett Wilson, the lawyer, said her main witness, Heather Kamp, who has bipolar disorder and lied to police about the case, was not trustworthy.

Kate’s father, Tom Waring, spoke at the hearing and said that the death of his daughter had a big impact on his family. He said that the only thing that comforted them was that she was at peace.

Waring’s father thanked Mack for taking care of things.

Charleston SC Kate Waring Murder Update

It was on a train that was going to Charleston Sc. that Heather Kamp met Kate Waring. She was tall and beautiful with a red hair. Kamp quickly became friends with Waring.

Waring told Kamp about her best friend Ethan Mack when they arrived in Charleston. Kamp and Mack had a relationship that was more than just friendship, though.

Almost right away, Kamp tricked Mack into thinking she was having a baby and got him to turn on his rich friend Waring for money.

She and Mack told Waring to climb inside a bag at Mack’s house, Kamp said.

In order to get rid of the threat, Mack used a stun gun to get rid of Waring. Then he hit her over the head with the bottle of wine and pulled her body into a bathtub full of water. Before long, her body was dumped in the woods.

Mack tried to cash a fake $4,500 check from Waring’s bank account a few days after Kate went missing. There wasn’t enough money in the account to do that.

Kamp said he was mentally ill when he admitted to involuntary manslaughter. She got a 45-year sentence.

In court, Mack pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 25 years in prison. He had agreed to plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter.

Where Is Ethan Mack Now?

Ethan Mack will have to serve at least 85% of his 25-year sentence. It was last week that Kamp agreed to plead guilty to murdering someone who was mentally ill. However, he hasn’t been punished for it.

Last October, Mack was tried for the murder of Waring, but a jury couldn’t come to a unanimous decision, so the judge called the case a hung jury.

Forgery and obstruction of justice charges were found against Mac last July, and he was sentenced to ten years in prison. He was also sentenced to five years in prison for forgery.

This month, Mack’s friend, Heather Kamp, pleaded guilty to a murder charge in connection with the killing of Waring. She was mentally ill at the time, though.

In August, 31-year-old Kamp agreed to plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter and other charges related to Waring’s death, but the deal fell apart when authorities said she lied. Kamp is now back in jail.

Kamp told the court how she met Waring and how she was killed. He went to a West Ashley gym, a CVS, and a Japanese steakhouse on June 12, 2009. He then went on the run.

A surveillance camera caught her at the George Street drugstore around 8 p.m.

Stun gun: They also hit her over the head with a bottle of wine, Kamp says. They then put her body in the bathtub to drown her.
