The Bachelorette star Cam Ayala just had his right leg amputated after a lifetime struggle with lymphedema. The reality personality underwent a limb amputation 20 years after diagnosis.

After visiting more than 20 clinics, he “finally received some therapy choices. For a second chance to lead a “normal” life once more, he performed manual lymphatic drainage massage, used leg pumps, and donned special compression clothing.
He made every attempt, but he was unable to get long-lasting relief. With the help of his “family, friends, and music,” he managed to get through a trying time despite having to endure “countless nights of severe pain, swelling, and mental torture.”
Doctors recommended amputation in 2014 after Ayala endured “13 surgical procedures” to treat an infection, but he was terrified of losing one leg. He had a diagnostic operation to save his limb once more in 2016. In 2018, he initially disclosed his lymphedema to his followers on social media.
