Production of Brahmastra
Producer Karan Johar confirmed the release of Brahmstra in July 2017. Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt were cast as the lead actors, and Ayan Mukerji was hired as the film’s director. The movie’s title was initially speculated to be Dragon but was subsequently revealed to be Brahmstra. Brahmstra is a “modern film with ancient characteristics,” according to Mukerji, who also stated that the title “resonates with the old wisdom, energies, and force.”
The film’s production began in January 2018. In an interview, Kapoor said that Mukerji “has spent six years of his life working really hard to make an original story” and that the trilogy would be produced over a period of ten years.” Kapoor also denied rumors that it is a romantic superhero movie. Themes of Brahmastra
A film depicting Mukerji explaining the mystical Astraverse was released in July 2022. In it, he describes how the “Brahm-Shakti” gave rise to the stras, which are composed of all the various energies found in nature and include the Jal (water) stra, Pawan (wind), and Agney (fire) stra. Characters of Brahmastra
Rumi, who also provided inspiration for the first appearance of actor Kapoor’s character, according to Mukerji, was the source of that character’s inspiration. In order to lay the groundwork for the movie, Mukerji also drew inspiration from Rumi’s writing, “Love is the bridge between you and everything.” Later, he disclosed that the Rumi-inspired style had been abandoned that Kapoor had instead received a haircut.

Brahmastra’s Filming
With the start of the first schedule of the movie on February 24, 2018, principal filming for the movie officially started in February 2018. The film’s first schedule was completed in Bulgaria on March 24, 2018, and the second schedule was completed there as well as in London on July 8, New York in late July, and Bulgaria by the end of the month. Extensive shooting began on February 1, 2019, in Edinburgh, Scotland. The 20-day schedule began on July 30, 2019, at the Ramnagar Fort and Chet Singh Fort in Varanasi. Music
The soundtrack score was written and composed by Pritam and produced and mixed by British artist Steel Banglez, with songs written by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The film score was composed by English composer Simon Franglen.
The film’s soundtrack’s first single, “Kesariya,” performed by Arijit Singh, was unveiled on April 10, 2022. Three days later, an audio and video teaser of the song were made available. On July 17, 2022, the song was made available in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. Singh gave a performance of the song the day before its release at the Sydney stop of his 2022 concert tour.
