Can mending past hurts pave the way for a better future? is another Self story synopsis.

Another Self is a series of eight episodes in which the protagonist travels on a mystical, spiritual healing journey while attempting to find answers to questions. The three closest friends at the core of the story are social media influencer Leyla, general surgeon Ada, and lawyer Sevgi, who is facing cancer.

Sevgi made the decision to go to Zaman’s spiritual healing refuge in Ayvalik after growing weary of her medical therapies failing her. She brought along Ada and Leyla, but they were kept in the dark regarding their friend’s family constellation therapy session. A month later, Sevgi’s cancer remarkably disappeared, and she at last informed her friends of Zaman’s life-saving healing method.

Ada, a steadfast proponent of biomedicine and a careerist who was driven by science, was angered by her friend’s decision to abandon her years of medical school in favor of the irrational, mystical practice. Ada had been having hand tremors that significantly impacted her surgical procedures without the other two’s knowledge.

Leyla also struggled with the waters. She had never been able to understand why she had always been terrified to go near the water for fear of drowning. These problems ultimately took center stage in the women’s lives and compelled them to visit Zaman’s retreat as advised by Sevgi.

Following that, Another Self primarily focused on Ayvalik, and many dynamics played out in the little village, with Tropaz—ex—also Ada’s making an appearance. At the retreat, Sevgi started a relationship with Fiko, the proprietor of a small café, while Leyla had to face the music when her husband left her and their son.

Does Sevgi still have a medical condition?

Ada eventually resolved her generational problems in her matrilineal background and past traumas after accepting and embracing Zaman’s practice despite her scientific orientation. But the way she lived now was anything but secure. She became pregnant as a result of her husband Selim’s infidelity with a coworker.

Ada had already had to deal with the reality that her father had a family other than her own, so it was the final straw for her. After eventually divorcing Selim, she went back to Ayvalik, where Fiko and Sevgi were beginning to take their relationship seriously.

Their harmonious connection was complicated by Sevgi’s mother, Muko, who disapproved of Fiko and attributed Sevgi’s attitude change to Zaman’s treatment. Zaman’s practice was stopped after Muko complained about him.

Leyla, meanwhile, was in shock over the fact that her spouse was a criminal and was now being held by the police. Ada and her best friends reunited in Ayvalik, where they urged her to give Tropaz another chance because he was the only person she had ever truly loved.

The conclusion of Another Self included Fiko proposing to Sevgi and everyone present at their wedding. Tropaz and Ada reconnected and tackled their mutual past tragedy. After they decided to work together as partners, Leyla assisted Fiko in finding a new location to open his café. Finally, Zaman announced that he would be taking a sabbatical from his profession to travel.

Ada and Sevgi’s happiness, nevertheless, was fleeting. After her wedding, Sevgi found a letter from her mother that she had hidden away until late at night. Her father had been shot dead prior to her birth, and the tale proved out to be accurate. The man she thought was her father was actually only a friend who had promised to take care of her and her mother.

Sevgi was overcome by the revelation and passed out; Fiko discovered him on the floor. She had stopped taking her drugs since she thought Zaman had cured her cancer, but it was later discovered that her condition had returned.

Ada couldn’t leave Sevgi while she was ill, and Tropaz’s daughter Flor and her mother Eva unexpectedly showed up, putting an end to the couple’s intentions to move to the Netherlands. Ada was forced to make a decision at the end of Another Self when Tropaz and Eva’s kiss put an end to their plans for a while.

Ada approached Zaman after learning that he had also studied medicine and was a working physician because she was upset that Sevgi’s cancer had returned. Additionally, he was forced to take on the role of a father figure for everyone else by his estranged son. The series ended with all three ladies reuniting at one of Zaman’s sessions, but even then, Zaman’s techniques remained a mystery.

Regarding the characters’ futures, Another Self’s conclusion left a lot of questions unanswered. Although the story came full circle in a sense, with the protagonists evolving into another version of themselves through a lot of introspection and some mysticism, it would still function just as well with an unfinished ending. In the end, the series left some of the mystery up to individual interpretation.

The second season of Another Self, though, wouldn’t be all that horrible either with the correct screenplay, if it resolved unresolved issues from the previous season. The Turkish drama’s whole eight-episode run is now accessible on Netflix.
