Amy Schumer’s comments on social media, Fans of Tom Holland criticize the comedian while the MCU actor takes time off for his mental health

Recently, Amy Schumer faced criticism for posting a spoof video that made fun of users who take breaks from social media for their mental health and wellbeing.

A few hours prior to her tweet, MCU actor Tom Holland revealed he would be taking a sabbatical from social media in order to take better care of his mental health. In her video, Schumer made a lighthearted joke about how social media had improved her mental health and that she will publish more content there:

Hey everyone. I’ve made the decision to use social media more for my own mental health. I’ve discovered that staring at my phone for 8.5 hours a day is beneficial to me. And it’s assisting with this breakout and pimple patch.

She continued by saying that viewing internet programs like Love Island and The Bachelors have improved her physical and mental wellbeing even more:

And since I’m in my forties, it’s actually beneficial for me to watch every episode of The Bachelor and Love Island. whether they are in a paradise or just regular residences. As a result, you’ll see a lot more of me on social media for my own physical and mental health.

In contrast, Tom Holland revealed in his video that he frequently finds Twitter and Instagram to be “overstimulating and overpowering.” Additionally, he said that reading about himself on social media has been “detrimental” to his mental health and that he had made the decision to step aside.

“I have taken a break from social media for the sake of my mental health because I find Instagram and Twitter to be overstimulating, overwhelming, I get caught up and spiral when I read things about me online, and ultimately it’s very bad for my mental state, so I took a step back and deleted the app,” the user said.

Holland urged people to communicate more openly about mental health issues and urged his fans to donate to Stem4, a foundation that promotes youngsters’ positive mental health.

Although celebrities including Chelsea Handler, Orlando Bloom, and Michelle Pfeiffer praised Amy Schumer’s remarks about social media and mental health, the video dissatisfied some Tom Holland fans.

Do you not feel self-conscious? When Tom shared his difficulty and vulnerability and then expressed his support for the group that works to help young people improve their mental health, did you just laugh it off? @amyschumer repulsive

Amy lamented, “Wah, they wouldn’t let me make nasty jokes during the Oscars. I’m really disappointed. She needs to get it together because she is truly in her 40s and isn’t being serious when she makes fun of Tom in a tantrum.

It’s unfortunate that Amy Schumer made the Oscars slap about her, so I’m not even surprised that she’s making fun of Tom, but it’s just plain rude to do so while he was endorsing youth mental health causes.

I want you to never forget that it’s because of people like you that so many people around the world suffer in silence and are reluctant to admit they have mental illnesses. It’s not about Tom; it’s about millions of people like me who struggle every day to avoid being laughed at by weirdos like you.
