Gossip Girl Season 2: Review
We must admit that we weren’t overly excited when “Gossip Girl Reboot” launched its first season. The concept inspired this feeling of mistrust. One of the most “restaurantry” series ever made its debut when the first season of “Gossip Girl” aired in 2007. It was about the affluent and privileged people’s lives and the strategies they used to maintain their social hegemony.
Certainly not one of the best series to be based on such a subject was “Gossip Girl.” But the resilience of its characters is what gave it iconic status, which it still holds today. It was both humorous and interesting to see a group of teens with the smallest problems presented in the most “Tolstoy-Esque” way.
Age and better material have forced us to reevaluate our passion for the show as we’ve gotten older, making it more of a guilty pleasure than anything else.
We may have been influenced to give the first season a chance for that reason. We were shocked to discover that we kind of enjoyed it, to be honest. But as the series continued, we realized that we only appreciated the show as a pale imitation of the original.
Teenagers or those who are still teenagers at heart should only watch this show. It continues the minor social conflicts that characterized the previous show, but it lacks the oomph factor, and this hasn’t improved in the second season.
Gossip Girl Season 2: Cast

Season 2 of Gossip Girl will see the return of many of the characters you grew to love or hate in the first season, including Julien (Jordan Alexander), Zoya (Whitney Peak), Obie (Eli Brown), Audrey (Emily Alyn Lind), Max (Thomas Doherty), Aki (Evan Mock), Monet (Savannah Lee Smith), and Luna (Zion Moreno).

The time is up for her. “Michelle inhabits that role so fully and so deliberately and just knows what she’s there to accomplish, knows how she fits into this universe,” he continues regarding Trachtenberg reprising the part.
This season, keep an eye out for one of Safran’s favorite Georgina scenes. “Where she’s introduced has a connection to the first show, which I love, that is so amusing, and it ties to characters from the original show. She just has this short line of conversation about how she’s been dealing with characters from the first show over the past 15 years. It’s one of my favorite moments during the entire season.
The original series’ executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are looking forward to Georgina’s plot returning as well: Chuck Bass was terrified of her, too. Teen Vogue is told by Savage.
Other changes this season include the promotion of Grace Duah, who we briefly saw in season 1 as Zoya’s friend Shan, to series regular. As the season progresses, there are romances and connections that are missed, according to Safran.

The Gossip Girl Season 2: Trailer
On Thursday, HBO Max released the official trailer, and it already looks scandalous.
The first season of the show was renowned for its OMG-worthy moments, and if the trailer is any indicator, the second season will have no shortage of them.

According to Safran, bringing any of the primary cast back for brief cameos in season 1 would just leave viewers wanting more because he didn’t want the new characters to “dwell in the shadow of the original characters.”
The decision was made to finish season 1 so that, should we receive season 2, we would have the opportunity to add cameos that weren’t just glorified cameos but had meaningful plots, according to Safran. That being said, season 1 will have cameos from the original cast but not from the regulars.
