She began her training in dance at the age of 11 under the instruction of Sharmila Kamte, a well-known dance instructor at the Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre Chaloub Studio. Sharmila Kamte is known throughout the United Arab Emirates as the “dancing queen.” She joined the modern professional dance company that she was training with.
While she was living in Dubai, she received her education at Al Mawakeb School, Emirates International School, and Dubai American Academy. Nancy Mock, Shihabi’s instructor, supported her decision to pursue a career in acting after seeing her student perform in a number of school productions.
