In the Lakeview afterlife, Nathan Brown (Robbie Amell) has met a lot of interesting people. Nathan tries to make friends with his next-door neighbour, billionaire David Choak, in Season 1 of Upload (William B. Davis). In Upload Season 2, David returns to attend a dinner party thrown by Nathan’s girlfriend, Ingrid Kannerman (Allegra Edwards).
Even in death, David appears with a gorgeous woman on his arm, still the conventional billionaire. His date, however, is not a real woman. He reveals, “She’s a Prefera, programmed to appear like my ex-wife.”
Who plays David Choak’s Prefera date?

Celeste Ziegler, a 38-year-old actress, portrays David’s ideal date, who has no free choice of her own. Celeste has appeared in episodes of Lucifer, Imposters, and The Good Doctor, as well as the Netflix film Game Over, Man!, in addition to her work in Upload. Celeste is also a professional model, which may explain why the majority of the personas she’s portrayed so far have names like “Brunette,” “Attractive Woman,” and “Hottie #1.”
Celeste, on the other hand, isn’t only a model and actor. In April of 2021, she also became a licenced realtor. She says in an Instagram post that working in real estate has been a long-time passion of hers. Celeste claims that after preparing for three months, she passed the realtor licencing exam with flying colours. She claims she did it all while working on a new TV show, Upload, which we’re pretty sure she’s referring to. She is currently employed by Oakwyn Realty in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, where she was born and raised.
Celeste has been blissfully married to fellow actor Clayton James since 2020, despite her role as a programme designed to fit David Choak’s desires in Upload. The couple married on a beautiful beach and are the proud parents of their rescue dog, Bea (who also has her own incredibly adorable Instagram account).
How many ‘Upload’ episodes does Celeste appear in?
Celeste appears as the Prefera in Upload Season 2 Episodes 2 and 3. “Mr. Choak likes Bloody Marys and the repeal of environmental legislation,” she says in the opening zinger. Nathan laughs that he and Ingrid would be delighted to provide them with one of those items.
During a high-stakes poker game with some of the other exceedingly wealthy Lakeview guests in Episode 3, the Prefera does not leave David’s side. Once again, the Prefera exists merely to serve as a lovely side piece for David’s requirements.
Ingrid compares the Prefera to a sex doll, but the Prefera displays her intellect by correctly forecasting the chances of each round in the poker game. (Of course, this is all for the benefit of the billionaire who paid to have her programmed the way he wanted.)
The wonderful actress who portrays Prefera, on the other hand, is a true Renaissance lady in real life, and a dog lover to boot!
