Didmus Barasa is in jail? How it was shot

Police are looking for Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa because he was involved in a shooting that killed the assistant of a rival. Barasa and his DAP opponent, Brian Khaemba, got into a fight at the Chebukwabi polling place, where they were supposed to watch the votes being counted.

DCI for Bungoma Joseph Ondoro said that Khaemba left and went to his car after the two got into a fight.

Ondoro says that Joshua Nasokho, Khaemba’s driver, did not follow the order and set fire to the car. Ondoro said, “Barasa went after him with four other guys and told them not to let Khaemba leave the site.”

A police report says that Barasa pulled out a gun at that point, pointed it at Khaemba’s assistant Brian Olunga, and shot him in the head, killing him instantly. He was already dead when he got to the Kimilili sub-county hospital.

Ondoro said that Barasa was wanted to talk about what happened. “He ran away, but we’re still trying to find him. He should just give up, “he said. At the time this report was written, Olunga’s body was at the hospital mentioned above, waiting to be taken to Delight Funeral Home.
