Shamar Alon Lark and Rashad Jamal May, two suspects, have been detained in connection with the mall of America shootings.
The two were captured on mall surveillance video fleeing a fight with four other individuals, during which Lark fired six bullets. There were no injuries as a result of the incident that sent shoppers fleeing and put the mall under lockdown.
Lark is now on probation after being involved in a shooting in September at SE 26th and Delaware Avenues. Lark left the scene of the encounter with another individual before being discovered in possession of a firearm. He was charged with unlicensed possession of a firearm.
Within a year, a similar incident at the Mall of America took place. On December 31, 2021, two people were shot and hurt as a result of an altercation on the third floor of the mall.

Two suspects have reportedly been captured in Chicago, according to the police, following gunfire last week inside a busy store at the Mall of America.
The Chicago FBI’s Fugitive Task Force arrested the 21-year-old Shamar Alon Lark and the 22-year-old Rashad Jamal May during a traffic check at around 2:25 p.m.
Bloomington Police Chief Booker Hodges conducted a press conference on Thursday night and Thursday night. After leaving a barbershop, they got into a car with another individual who was behind the wheel.
Without incident, Lark and May were taken into jail. Before being extradited to Minnesota, they are currently being processed for booking into the Cook County jail in Illinois.
“We claimed a week ago that shooting in a mall and expecting to get away with it was inconceivable. If you want to take use of the privileges provided by a free society, you cannot engage in these actions “Hodges commented. I genuinely hope that after being held accountable for their actions, Mr. Lark and Mr. May get the help they need to alter their lives.
Arrested for the Mall of America shooting are suspects
On Monday, charges of helping an offender were also brought against Denesh Raghubir, 21, of Minneapolis, Selena Raghubir, 23, of Bloomington, and Delyanie Kwen-Shawn Arnold, 23, of Burnsville. They are also responsible for helping the men leave the mall.
According to the accusations, May took Lark’s car to the shopping center on Thursday at 4 p.m. It was transported to the Bloomington Police Station after being abandoned in the parking garage. A handgun holster and men’s identification cards were found in the trunk of the automobile when police officers searched it.
When authorities arrived at the scene of the shooting soon before 4:20 p.m., they found three cartridges inside the Nike store’s front door. A confrontation began before May and Lark momentarily left the store, according to security footage.
Lark returned and fired a handgun into the crowd. He pushed May out the north doors and into the Ikea parking lot, out of sight of the cameras.
The men were picked up by a Best Western shuttle at Ikea and taken to the hotel in the south. Police questioned the bus driver Raghubir. The last time he saw them, he said he dropped them off and they were smoking outside the motel.
Police learned that May called Arnold two minutes after the incident, and that Arnold called her five more times between 4:20 and 4:23 p.m. after obtaining a search warrant.
Arnold then called Selena Raghubir, the hotel’s assistant manager and his girlfriend, as well as the shuttle bus driver’s cousin. The pair finally spoke with May on the phone at 4:30 p.m.
A car with Selena Raghubir’s license plate then follows the bus after it is observed picking up Lark and May at IKEA and dropping them off at the hotel’s back entrance ten minutes later.

According to reports, the two Christians who started the horrific attack at the Mall of America were Shamar Alon Lark and Rashad Jamal May.
Since the investigations are still underway, more details about the defendants are not made public. They are both African-Americans by ethnicity.
