Longtime companion of Robin Roberts, Amber Laign, has ceased receiving chemotherapy but is still on the road to recovery.
Laign had finished her radiation treatments as of July 18, Roberts tweeted. Laign was initially diagnosed with breast cancer in the end of 2021, at which point she began chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
Robin revealed Amber’s condition and announced she would temporarily leave the morning programme to be with her partner as she had chemotherapy in a video that was shared on Twitter in February.

Roberts, a cancer survivor, said she has tried to keep Laign upbeat when times are difficult. Roberts was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007 and went into remission.
Laign and Roberts have been dating since 2005. Despite being in a well-known relationship, Laign chooses to avoid the spotlight and maintain privacy on social media. She is a licenced massage therapist who hails from San Francisco.
Basketball: Did Robin Roberts Play It?
In addition to other sports, Robin Roberts participated in basketball and tennis while growing up in Pass Christian, Mississippi. Tuskegee, Alabama, is where she was born.
She developed into a star for the women’s basketball team, concluding her playing days as the school’s third-leading scorer and rebounder (1,446 points) (1,034).
Roberts is one of just three Lady Lions to have tallied 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds throughout the course of their careers. In her senior year, she averaged 27.6 points per game, a career high.
On February 5, 2011, Southeastern hosted a ceremony to retire Roberts’ jersey’s number 21. She was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2012.
