The most recent episode of the show ‘True Crime Story: It Couldn’t Happen Here’ on Investigation Discovery educates viewers about the heartbreaking events that transpired in the life of a young parent. Christian Griggs was killed by gunfire outside the home of his estranged father-in-law shortly after he arrived there to pick up his daughter Jaden, who was 4 years old at the time. Katie Griggs, who had been separated from Christian at the time of the shooting, was present inside the residence when it took place. Who is Katie Griggs?
Katie Chisenhall was known to be a shy and attractive girl when she was growing up in Angier, North Carolina. Her hometown is Angier. At the age of 29, her father, Pat Chisenhall, began his career as a priest. Katie was the younger of the two children, while her brother Patrick was the older of the two. Katie and Christian started dating shortly after they met at Harnett Central High School in North Carolina. Both schools are located in the state of North Carolina. Katie became pregnant during their senior year, and the couple had their daughter Jaden in November 2008, only a few short months after they had graduated from high school.
Although Christian received a full ROTC scholarship to attend North Carolina State University when he first enrolled there, he left school after just one year in order to join the military so that he could provide for his daughter. After some time had passed, Christian’s parents related that Katie frequently accused them of insulting her. The fact that Katie’s parents and Christian’s parents did not meet until four months after the couple’s wedding in January 2009 contributed to the high levels of tension that existed between all parties concerned. The marriage wasn’t without its ups and downs all the way through. As part of his tour of duty, Christian was stationed in Iraq, and he returned home from that duty in August of 2011.
Later on, Christian and Katie made the decision to buy a house in Harlem, Georgia; however, their time spent there was fraught with numerous challenges. Katie placed a call to 911 in May 2012 to report that Christian had locked himself in a room with a gun, and she feared that he would end his own life. When the police arrived, he said that the only reason he did it was to frighten Katie. The next month, in September 2012, Katie was in Georgia when she placed a call to 911 to report that Christian had expressed thoughts of taking his own life. He was in his childhood home in North Carolina at the time, which belonged to his parents. Christian reported to the authorities that he had been asleep and that he had last communicated with Katie a few hours before.
The next day, she was in Angier when she made another call to 911, this time stating that Christian had refused to leave and that they had battled about who should have custody of Jaden. Before deciding to end their relationship for good in 2013, the pair gave their relationship one last shot at success. On the 11th of October in 2013, Christian went to get Jaden, as he did on alternating weekends when he had custody of her. However, an argument broke out between the two of them, and Katie subsequently reported to the authorities that Christian had broken a window and ripped out an air conditioning unit. In the evening of the same day, Katie and Pat had warrants issued for Christian’s arrest on charges of breaking and entering and domestic criminal trespass.
On the morning of October 12, 2013, Christian came back to pick up Jaden; however, it is unknown what took place after that. Pat reported to the authorities that Christian was irate and had made threats toward them. Therefore, the pastor commanded his daughter to accompany him into the residence. Then, Pat asserted that Christian had begun pounding on the doors and windows of the house and demanded that Katie be allowed to leave the property. Katie, who said that she had been hiding in a closet before the shooting, contacted 911 and accused Christian of threatening them and breaking into the house. Katie said that she had been hiding in the closet before the shooting. In the end, Pat asserted that he had fired his gun in self-defense when confronted by his estranged son-in-law.

Where Can I Find Katie Griggs Right Now?
Pat’s version of the events is the only one that can be found in the public record; the court in Harnett County, North Carolina, has decided to keep Katie Griggs’ account of what happened confidential. She was present throughout her father’s wrongful death trial, which was brought by Christian’s parents. In the end, her father was judged to be civilly culpable for Christian’s death. Christian Griggs’ Cause of Death
It was said that Christian Griggs was a handsome young man who was also kind and readily made friends with others. He had a nomadic childhood after being born to parents who served in the Army and eventually settled down with his family in Angier, North Carolina. There, he made the connection that led to his marriage to Katie Chisenhall in January 2009, close to a year after the couple had welcomed Jaden into the world. Before joining the military to support his family and care for his daughter Jaden, Christian received his education at North Carolina State University. After having served for close to three years, he eventually went back to school to study computer engineering.
Despite the fact that Christian and Katie were no longer together at the time of the incident, they shared parental responsibilities for their son Jaden. On October 12, 2013, the 23-year-old picked up their daughter by going to Katie’s house. However, after a flurry of activity, Christian’s father, Anthony, also known as Tony, discovered his son lying face down on the front porch of Katie’s father’s house. Tony is also Christian’s middle name. A.22-caliber rifle had been used to shoot him six times; once in the left shoulder, once in the abdomen, and four times in his back were the locations of the wounds.
