Victor Erik Olof Hedman, better known by his nickname Victor Hedman, is a professional ice hockey defenseman from Sweden. He underwent surgery for his injury previously, and he is currently injured.
He is a defenseman for the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League and serves as their substitute captain (NHL). In the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, the Lightning selected Hedman second overall.
Hedman is a five-time James Norris Memorial Trophy finalist who won the award in 2018. Hedman is largely recognized as one of the top defensemen in the NHL. With the Lightning, Hedman won two Stanley Cups in 2020 and 2021, as well as the Conn Smythe Trophy for most valuable player in postseason games in 2020.
Victor Hedman: What Happened To Him?
After star defenseman Victor Hedman suffered a terrible high hit from New York Rangers forward Alexis Lafreniere in the second period of Game 6 of the Eastern Conference playoffs in 2022, the Tampa Bay Lightning could be dealing with yet another significant injury.
Lafreniere missed his hit, but he hurt Hedman, who was soon pulled from the game and transported to the storage facility by blackout spotters. Hedman could have done without his ice experience being cut short, given the importance of the assignment.
Hedman has unquestionably contributed to Lightning’s recent success. He remains one of the most spectacular blueliners in the NHL due to his ability to play high on both ends of the ice. Hedman was the Bolts’ second-best player in assists (65) and negative. 2 in focuses throughout the regular season (85).

Because of his recent injury, Victor Hedman was in a rage. The veteran defenseman hurled his stick against the boards in front of the Lightning bench, ripping the blade off, and then walked away, shouting at referee Chris Rooney.
After being hit in the jaw by the Rangers’ Alexis Lafreniere midway through the second period Saturday at Amalie Arena, he was understandably upset.
Hedman was even less upset when he had to leave for the dressing room at the request of the concussion spotter, slamming the door behind him and walking down the runway.

He is a 6’6″ Swedish defenseman who represented the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2015 Stanley Cup Finals. In the 2009 NHL Draft, the Lightning selected him second overall.
He was chosen to the World U18 All-Star Team and the World Junior All-Star Team in 2007 and 2008, respectively.
He helped Sweden win silver at the World Junior Championships in both 2008 and 2009. His two older brothers, Oscar and Johan, raised him. However, no information about his other relatives has been released.
Hedman began his ice hockey career in the Swedish J20 SuperElit with the Modo Hockey Association. He had 25 focuses in 34 games during his most notable whole season in the league, 2006-07. Hedman then became skilled and won the Elitserien with Modo when he was 16 years old.
