Where Did Tasha Cobbs Leonard Go?

Cobbs, Toby Leonard has been open about the fact that she has anxiety and has been depressed in the past. She said in 2016 that she had been diagnosed with depression in 2007.

Leonard, a talented singer whose songs inspire millions of people, has had a successful career as one of the most well-known gospel musicians and has won a lot of awards. However, she has also been through a lot of hard times.

Tasha said this when she was asked about her battle with depression: “I’ve always had these sad feelings, even when I was young. I thought I was the only one going through this and that there was something wrong with me.

In 2007, when I was the worship pastor at my church, I realized there was a bigger problem. I would go home and stay under the covers with the curtains closed. I wouldn’t eat for days and wouldn’t leave my room, even though I could get up and sing and see people healed, set free, and given freedom.

My therapist told me I had depression. You might be surprised to hear that Grammy-winning gospel singer Tasha Cobbs is sad. Yes, depression.

I am sure that therapy helped me figure out what parts of my life needed fixing, and I believe that God and my faith finished my recovery.”

The singer also said that she has had trouble with her weight and that she knew she had to move on to find out who she really is. In 2010, she took the action she had planned and had surgery.

I’ve always felt very sad since I was a child. I thought it was just me and something was wrong with me. When I was the worship pastor at my church in 2007, I realized there was something more going on. I had been in charge of our worship ministry for four or five years, and when I went to church, I would hug everyone, smile at everyone, kiss babies, and so on.

I could get up and sing and watch people be healed, set free, and find freedom in their lives, but when I got home, I would stay under the covers with the curtains closed, not eat, and not leave my room for days. Shaniqua, who lived with me at the time and was my cousin, knew the routine: We would come home from church. I would take off my clothes, put on something big, and stay in bed for days. This time, I hadn’t left my room in three or four days and had been in bed the whole time. The house was completely dark, the curtains were closed, and the sadness was so heavy that she moved out and stayed with my pastor for a week because she couldn’t handle it.

How to Beat Depression: Three Lessons

Under those covers, I would say things to myself like, “Nobody wants you; they only want you for your gifts and talents.” People only want you for what you can give them, but no one gives you anything in return. Of course, none of it was true. I had a lot of people who loved me, but for some reason I was stuck in a place where I felt like I wasn’t good enough, no matter how much I did or how much I offered. I’d be sad for hours. I would cry sometimes and not even know why. It was just a heavy feeling that you can’t quite put your finger on.

During that time, something in my spirit told me, “Tasha, you have to do something about this.” I just felt like I couldn’t move forward in my career and ministry if I kept letting myself stay in this place. I thought, “Someone will find out at some point, and then it will get much bigger than I can handle.” So I got up to do some research, and I started looking into depression. I called my cousin Shaniqua and my pastor to tell them that I thought I knew what was wrong with me. I found a therapist right away so I could talk about what was going on in my life.

Overcome Depression & Reclaim Your Life

My counselor said I was depressed. I know what you’re thinking: Grammy-winning gospel singer Tasha Cobbs is depressed? Yes, depression.

I had never done anything like that before. I thought I didn’t know anyone who went to therapy. Our churches and society don’t talk enough about mental health. I remember being tired of doing it at all. I only told my closest friends and family when I started going to therapy. All of them were very helpful. “Did you go to your appointment today?” they would ask. What went wrong? Did you make any progress?’ But I know that some people, especially in our culture, don’t have that kind of support, and they have to go through hard times alone. This needs to be fixed. Depression and people who have problems with their mental health should get more attention from our culture and churches in general. From what I’ve seen when I’ve shared my story with different people, I think it’s a lot more common than we think, and I’m ready to be a leader in our culture and talk about the mental health problems we’ve been ignoring.

The Write or Die Chick: You Don’t Need Prayer, You Need Therapy

I think my faith was still my rock through all of this. I always use my father as an example. He was the rock on which our family was built. He showed me everything I know about life and ministry. My father died almost two years ago, a week before I won my first Grammy Award. One of the questions I get asked all the time is, “How did you grieve while having such a public career?” I think there are times in life when we have to do what we say. I’ve been telling people that he’s the God of peace and that he takes away chaos from our lives. The Bible talks about peace that we can’t understand. I have to believe, with all my faith, that He is the God I preach about. So, when I can’t find peace in my mind, I can always turn to God, and he gives me peace that I can’t even explain. Along with therapy, that’s something that helps me stay healthy. When it comes to this, I now do what I say because that’s the only thing that really helps. I think therapy helped me see the parts of myself that needed healing, and then I believe that God and my faith healed me.

I still see a counselor. It’s not as regular as it used to be, but I see my therapist about once a month to make sure we’re still on the right track. It’s something I support and something I believe in. I think that God has given some people on this earth the strength and power to help us through every situation in our lives.

Yolanda Sangweni was told this

Ashanti’s name has been in the news a lot this week because of The Murder Inc. Story, Irv Gotti’s new documentary series on BET. The conversation started when Gotti went on the Drink Champs podcast by N.O.R.E. and talked in depth about dating the singer while he was separated from his wife. When their relationship was the focus of last Tuesday’s episode of The Murder Inc. Story, people started to say that the label CEO was obsessed with Ashanti. Even Ja Rule, who is on the same label, said that he didn’t like Gotti’s behavior or how he handled things on Drink Champs.

Even though there was backlash, Irv Gotti stuck to his “truth” about Ashanti.

When we met Irv Gotti on the MTV VMA Red Carpet, we gave him a chance to rethink his comments in light of the backlash, but he stuck to what he calls his “truth.”

“It’s all I have. “They paid me a lot of money to talk about my life at Murder Inc., and that’s why I’m getting all this criticism,” Gotti tells ESSENCE. “It’s all I have. I’m not the type to lie. I hope the best for Ashanti. If you’re going to watch Ashanti, I hope you enjoy it. But I just said what was true.”

So far, Ashanti has not publicly responded to her former boss or talked about the details of their private relationship, which raised eyebrows because of their 10-year age difference and the fact that Ashanti would have been around 19 or 20 years old when he said he kissed her. Irv says, though, that he didn’t act like a predator.

“I thought it was funny to see how angry people were with me. They were trying to get the #MeToo movement going, and I told them, “Yo, I told her I loved her.” We dated for three years… I hope the best for her.”
