A Recap of Episode 7 of “The Patient”

At the beginning of “Kaddish,” Alan is shown to be having a dream in which he is in a concentration camp with his son Ezra. In his head, he is having a discussion with Charlie, and via this, he is attempting to decipher the meaning of the phrase. The therapist vents his frustration against his son, saying that after he converted to observant Judaism, the son cut him and his wife Beth out of his life completely. He makes an effort to publicly perform a prayer known as the Kaddish, but he quickly discovers that he has forgotten the words. Alan also considers the possibility that the authorities would discover the note and travel to Sam’s home, where they will save him and, most likely, end the life of the serial killer. In addition to this, he contemplates the worst-case scenario in which Sam discovers the message before Elias’s body is buried elsewhere, which may serve as the impetus for Sam to kill Elias.

Sam, in the meantime, comes face to face with a professor from his past by the name of Mr. Buchella. Sam inquires of Mr. Buchella as to whether or not he remembers anything about Sam’s youth. He also lets the professor know that he hasn’t been feeling well as of late, which the professor is surprised to hear. Sam has asked Mr. Buchella to consider becoming his therapist, and Mr. Buchella has promised to do so. Sam also inquires as to whether it will be beneficial for him to continue seeing his therapist, to which Mr. Buchella responds that doing so would be a poor decision on his part. Unexpectedly, Candace Fortner gets a phone call from her son, Sam, who wants to know whether there was ever anything wrong with him when he was a child. Sam calls his mother to inquire about this.

The conclusion of The Patient season 7 episode 7: What Happens to Elias’ Body? Will Alan’s Note Be Discovered by the Police?

Alan informs Sam, the serial murderer, that he needs to show empathy toward the family of the deceased, and he leaves the dead body for them to see him one final time after Sam has killed Elias. Sam has just killed Elias. It also provides Alan the opportunity to compose a message and place it in Elias’ mouth so that the authorities would be able to find him and save him from the situation. Sam, on the other hand, does not adhere to Alan’s instructions when he is confronted by a truck driver when he gets at the location where the dead body is to be dumped. Sam is concerned that the driver would recognise him and provide the authorities with a lead that could lead to his arrest. As a consequence of this, he stores the body in a safe place.

It’s possible that Sam hasn’t buried or otherwise disposed of the body yet, despite the fact that he doesn’t indicate where the body is stored or what really happened to it. The information that he shares with Alan makes it abundantly evident that the body is in no danger, and Alan has a good chance of succeeding in his attempt to convince the serial murderer to carry out the plan on another day. Because Sam is plagued by guilt over Elias’s death, it is possible that he will be able to complete the task. Even more than that, he has compassion for the departed person’s loved ones. Alan might be able to use the fact that Elias’ death has shaken him up significantly to his advantage and convince the serial murderer to leave the body for the benefit of the family of the deceased guy.

If it turns out to be the truth, the authorities might uncover Alan’s note and be able to save him from the serial killer. Having said that, the likelihood of Sam discovering the message before he leaves the body behind for Elias’ family is greater than it has ever been, particularly given the fact that the body is in his possession at the moment. There is a good possibility that Sam will discover the message if he thoroughly cleans the body in an effort to remove anything and everything that would direct the law enforcement officials to him.

Will Sam Kill Himself?

Since he killed Elias, Sam hasn’t been the same as he was before. Sam’s decision to kill the “restaurant guy” causes him to experience waves of remorse, which unsettles him rather than satiating his urges to commit homicide. The germ of empathy that Alan recognises in Sam germinates to the point where Sam is able to comprehend that he has behaved in a manner that he ought not to have. Sam comes to the conclusion that the most important thing he has learned is that he does not have any control over his own life since he is driven to kill by his impulses. After having a conversation with his mother Candace and his ex-wife Mary, he comes to the conclusion that he has not been as good as he should have been to the people who have been or are currently the closest to him.

The next thing we see of Sam, he is standing on a bridge, staring down at the water below, and seemed to be considering jumping over the bridge to end his life. Sam is likely at this point to consider suicide as his only option, despite the fact that the idea occasionally crosses his mind. He might give Alan or even Mr. Buchella a shot at helping him change his ways, and if it doesn’t work, Sam might decide to end his life by taking his own life. Suicide is a possibility. Especially now that regret is beginning to catch up with him, the serial killer might not want to spend the rest of his life as a slave to the deadly urges that drive him. However, if Alan is successful in convincing him to hide Elias’ body in some location and the authorities discover the therapist’s note, they may be able to arrest him before Sam takes his own life.

Alan will need to make the decision whether or not he should help Sam with his suicide ideas in his capacity as a therapist, given that he may not want to aid the person who could end up killing him. Therefore, the outcome of Sam’s story might also be determined by what Alan decides to do with Sam’s urges to terminate his life.

DOES ALAN ACHIEVE HIS GOAL OF ESCAPING?

Charlie observes in quiet as Alan speaks openly to him about this challenging issue. Sam returns with food and a printer to offer Alan the poetry he couldn’t recall in a gesture of goodwill. Sam’s strong actions have earned the therapist’s admiration. He was finally able to put himself in Alan’s position and experience what it was like to be dealing with his problems. Just as Alan’s situation appears to be improving, he queries Sam about Elias. Sam did not leave Elias’ body where it could be found, much to his disappointment, utter disbelief, and anguish.

He simply states that he left it in a location where no one could locate it without providing a location. At a stop light, Sam was about to do what Alan had hoped he would when a driver in another truck pulled up and mysteriously peered down into Sam’s truck bed, where the body was shrouded. The trucker would be able to identify Sam as the perpetrator if he really did leave it and the body was found the following day by the police. He may have been discovered by the police, and as we’ve seen in earlier episodes, his greatest fear is being apprehended.

There goes the last shred of hope that Alan had been given by life. He became a little bit too avaricious as he considered all the positive outcomes. The prayer is printed out for him by Sam after he sets up the printer. According to his reactions, he appears to be telling the truth and, in keeping with his history of having trouble controlling himself, he is being sincere. Alan trembles with disappointment and terror. He requests Sam’s privacy as he takes the paper in his hands. Sam complies with his request for a brief period of alone by returning to the other room. Sam waits quietly, wondering what it says while Alan performs the prayer in Beth’s honour.

Thus, Alan’s strategy was unsuccessful. The two possibilities he had discussed with Charlie were both incorrect, but a third, unexpected possibility turned out to be correct. We all kind of assumed that would be the case given the overall context of the series. Because it is now almost probable that Sam’s home will serve as the setting for the conclusion of season 1. The conclusion is growing more troubling by the second, but the authors could always pull a rabbit out of the hat.
