The Noel Diary: Review

The mother and son were never close and never had a healthy connection. His memories came back to life as he returned to his childhood home. He kept noticing a woman across the street who was staring at their house while he was there gathering things. The mysterious woman, Rachel, came to the Turners’ house in quest of her birth mother, a former nanny. As a result of their conversation, things advanced. Jake assisted her in locating her mother, and she repaired the strained bond he had with his father.

They both started feeling things for each other while on their enjoyable, crazy, and adventurous ride. The surprise in this story is that Rachel is already engaged and prefers certainty over “probabilities” in her life. Things suddenly change direction and arrive at a point when nothing is certain. Watch The Noel Diary to find out what happened to their love tale.

Because Rachel’s mother is named Noel, the film’s name has been retained: “The Noel Diary.” Rachel was an unmarried child. Thus she was unable to have her with her. Noel left the diary she kept after giving birth to Rachel at the Turners’ home so her daughter could find her one day. Along with comedy and romance, the movie also depicts the love and sacrifice of parents.

The Noel Diary is a calming romantic comedy adapted for the big screen by Charles Shyer from the novel by Richard Paul Evans of the same name. Justin Hartley plays the part of Jake Turner, and Barrett Doss plays Rachel. Ellie Foster will be my preferred movie character. She is a romantic at heart and knows how to embrace life to the fullest, even being 50 years old.

Since Rachel’s actions at the end weren’t justified, her character development felt lacking. Her character first created anticipation, but as time went on, she became the ideal representation of a cute young woman. She set off in quest of her mother to fill in the gaps in her personal life, particularly those with Alan (her fiancé). Jake didn’t enjoy having others around, but he didn’t feel lonely. They both had significant familial problems and insecurities. Jake and Rachel work together to conquer various obstacles because they are each other’s pillars of strength.

The Noel Diary: Plot

Since his mother’s mental illness forced him out when he was a teenager, Jacob Turner, the best-selling author of The Final Midnight, hasn’t visited his house in more than 20 years. A few days before Christmas, while he goes about his routine as a well-respected novelist, he gets a call from the estate’s attorney notifying him that his mother passed away last week. In addition to the house his mother left for him, Jacob goes home two decades later to reflect on his suffering with his abusive mother.

As he gets to Turner’s house, he runs into Rachel, a woman also hunting for the estate. The woman who used to work there as a nanny’s daughter, Rachel, is looking for her mother. Jacob and Rachel embark on a mission to learn the realities of their past and heal the wounds that burn intensely into their conscience after realizing that Jacob’s father is still alive.

The Noel Diary: Cast and Crew

As a son seeking information from his recently deceased mother, Justin Harley will play the primary lead in the movie. Before that, he contributed to the critically acclaimed and award-winning television series. This is Us on NBC, which debuted in September 2016. We can anticipate a terrific performance from the actor in this one, given that he has experience with romantic comedies. Barret Doss accompanies Jacob Turner on his adventure to help Rachel (Justin Harley) find the answers she seeks. The actress is recognized for her work in Person of Interest, Station 19, and Iron Fist.

Bonnie Bedelia adopts the part of a compassionate neighbor who directs the main protagonists’ journey, while James Remar and Essence Atkins undertake the roles of Justin Harley’s mother and father. The other cast members visible in the trailer include Andrea Sooch, Vivian Full, Jeff Corbett, Aaron Costa Ganis, Lauren Yaffe, Jacob Mackinnon, Alexander Blaise, Samantha Smart, Baylen D. Bielitz, Sophia Carlin, Mike Donovan, Gina D’Acciaro, and Blae Morris.

Charles Shyer, known for the critically acclaimed films Private Benjamin (1980), The Parent Trap (1998), Alfie (2004), and Father of the Bride, is the film’s director (1991). The script’s other writers, in addition to Rebecca Connor, Richard Paul Evans, and David Golden, are Charles Shyer and David Golden. He explained why Shyer wanted to adapt this tale to Access Hollywood.

“I was interested in adapting this book for a variety of reasons. The Noel Diary’s plot has room for both heart and humor while offering fantastic visual and directing opportunities. A film that, in the words of Billy Wilder, “Could make ’em laugh and make ’em cry,” Because of Justin Hartley’s role in This Is Us, I decided to cast him. I had a gut feeling that Justin could hit this one out of the park, considering his impressive range.”

The Noel Diary’s soundtrack is created by Dara Taylor, who received the HMMA Award for Best Original Score for Coldwell, a 2019 drama film. We can have high expectations for soundtracks given that she was nominated for the best original score HMMA Award in 2015 for the movie Undetectable.

We might get a first glimpse at this film at the Tudum event in September, though Netflix will likely release more Netflix & Chills content for their 2022 lineup, with Halloween just around the corner.

The Noel Diary: Does Rachel Identity of Her Mother?

As Jake and Rachel travel, it becomes evident they have great chemistry. They discuss general topics of life. Jake explains that he had an older brother who passed away when he was a little boy, and Rachel mentions how she had always wondered why her mother abandoned her when she was a child. The three didn’t see one other often because his brother’s death shattered the family. When Rachel finds the book Jake stole from his home, she realizes it is her mother’s diary. Noel was her name.

Noel describes in her diary how her parents shunned her for being pregnant at such a young age. Noel describes how Jake’s parents adopted her and guided her toward becoming a better person. Jake was Noel’s favorite when he was their babysitter, according to his writing. Noel also discusses how she wasn’t prepared to become a mother at such a young age. She knows that her mother adored her, but life forced them apart.

The two appear to be in love when they arrive at Jake’s father’s house. Rachel, though, is taken. It doesn’t seem like a romantic relationship, and Rachel seems to have second thoughts. She purchases one of Jake’s novels and develops a more profound affection for him. Jake also has second thoughts because he had imagined he would never fall in love, but now he constantly thinks about Rachel. As soon as they get there, Jake confronts his father.

The father of Jake sincerely regrets what he did. Jake’s father disappeared when his brother passed away, leaving the young boy and his mother by themselves. After reconciling with his father, Jake spends a night with Rachel, but she departs because she is bewildered. Jake pursues her and confesses his love to her. Rachel rejects him, but she later returns to his place, and as they kiss, they realize they are meant to be. As the movie comes to a close, Rachel and Jake are prepared to embark on a new venture.
