As a result of his performance against Boston College, in which he recorded a season-high 11 receptions for 152 yards and a touchdown that covered 66 yards, he was named the ACC Rookie of the Week for the third time. At North Carolina, he had eight receptions for 82 yards, and he also had four kickoff returns for 146 yards, including a touchdown return of 99 yards to start the second half. He had a total of 146 yards. At the end of the first half, he scored his first touchdown of his career by completing his first pass, which was for eight yards. He was suspended for the game against Michigan State, and then he suffered a lacerated kidney that caused him to miss the final two games.
