One of the nine children of his proud parents, Shakur Stevenson was born. One of his most ardent supporters has been his parents and relatives.

American boxer Stevenson, 25, competes professionally. He is a two-weight world champion after holding the WBO featherweight title from 2019 to 2020, the WBO super featherweight title from 2021 to 2022, and the WBC and The Ring super featherweight crowns in 2022.

He participated for the United States as an amateur in the bantamweight division of the 2016 Summer Olympics, winning a silver medal. ESPN, BoxRec, and the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board currently rank him as the top super featherweight fighter currently competing in the world.

On February 9, 2017, Stevenson signed a promotional contract with Top Rank and appointed Andre Ward as his manager, launching his professional career.

Shakur displayed his agility, defense, and punching prowess by defeating American boxer Edgar Brito in his first professional fight. The fifth round was decided on a technicality for him. The bout was abandoned by the ringside physician. Stevenson had a lead on the scorecards of all three judges and won every round.

Stevenson was the eldest of his parents’ nine children when he was born. On June 28, 1997, his mother Malikah Stevenson and stepfather Shahid Guyton began raising them in Newark, New Jersey, in the United States. As his biological father abandoned Malikah while she was pregnant, Stevenson never got to meet him.

The only thing we know about him is that he is Puerto Rican. Malikah was six months pregnant when Shahid first met her. By taking excellent care of Shakur and molding him into the champion he is today, he prevented Shakur from feeling the absence of his father.

After exchanging vows and tying the married, they became a couple.

Shahid is an Oakland native. The name Ash-Shakur Nafi Shahid Stevenson was given to Malikah and her husband’s first child. In memory of the well-known rapper who had passed away just months before Shakur was born, he was given the name Shakur.

Shakur’s mother decided to name her child Tupac since she was a big fan of the rapper at the time. She was reportedly also his acquaintance and related to the late artist in some way.

Stevenson was raised by an extended family that included his parents, grandparents, and cousins on occasion. When he was a year old, though, Mrs. Stevenson had to go back to work, so he began spending more time with Shahid Guyton. After that, the two grew close.

After Shakur, the couple had eight more children. Shahid and Malikah’s grandparents are Steveson, 25, and his daughter.

The boxer was still quite young, but Guyton and Shakur became close. Shahid, who had lived his entire life in Oakland, was forced to travel to Philadelphia as a result of the young fighter.

Given how strongly they are attached, nobody would ever realize that the two are not biologically related. Guyton, a native of Newark, did, however, benefit greatly from his son’s reputation.

After his victory, the 25-year-old boxer greatly aided his stepfather. Guyton had a poor education before meeting Malikah and even after they got married. He had only graduated from high school.

However, as their situation improved as a result of the boxer’s prosperous career, Shahid was able to go back to school, obtain a GED, enroll in college, and even find employment.

Prior to his ascension, his stepfather’s line of work was ticket sales. His parents, however, apparently never hesitate to contrast their characteristics with those of their son.

Malikah has even admitted that she gets along best with her firstborn child. He succeeded in pulling his family out of the crisis as a result of his diligence and tenacity.

The mother of nine claims that because she has always been responsible, Shakur is similar to her. She remembers him going to the gym right after coming home from school to get to where he is now.

By requesting help in sending numerous members of his family to the 2016 Olympic Games, he demonstrated his commitment and love for his family even more. He worked hard to get his family to Rio since it meant a lot to him to have them there for the competition.

The news conference was abruptly ended when Shakur stepped in to save his mother after two women were allegedly responsible for hurting her. What was happening at that that moment was unclear.

Thankfully, everything went according to plan, and everyone in the young champion’s family was secure.

Stevenson proposed to Young Lyric in the center of the ring the same night after the bout and his outstanding victory over Valdez.

Oscar Valdez was easily defeated by Shakur Stevenson. After defeating Valdez, Stevenson currently has a professional record of 18 victories and 0 losses. Similar to how Valdez’s winning streak eventually came to an end, Stevenson was able to retain the WBC title.

Grandfather of Shakur Stevenson

Shakur Stevenson owes a debt of gratitude to his grandfather for shaping who he is today. He learned all the talents from Wali Mosses, his cherished granddad and coach.

When he was younger, Stevenson had a deep love of sports and was particularly drawn to baseball. Shakur developed his athletic skills while growing up near Muhammad Ali Boulevard in Newark.

The Rio Olympic silver medalist took up basketball in addition to baseball. He was passionate about boxing, but he was meant for a different career.

The first Stevenson family member to experience this love of boxing was his grandfather. This may have been influenced by the fact that Shakur’s grandfather, Moses Wali, was passionate about boxing and had previously trained a lot of boxers.

In addition, Wali also managed a gym and a boxing gym in Newark where his grandson trained in the sport.

Shakur’s grandmother and mother claim to have seen Stevenson shadowbox when he was a young boy. He constantly pretended to be in a shadow box and ring, which informed the family of what would happen to their cherished kid.

When Moses was five years old, Shakur’s training and coaching began. He obtained the young man’s equipment requirements and enrolled him at a gym. The boxer didn’t need his grandfather’s encouragement to practice for long.

The two-time Featherweight Champion began working out independently, out of sight of his Wali. Moses remained his trainer for a long period, imparting many forms of instruction and direction.
