Sasha Krause: How Did The Woman Died?

The new episode of People Magazine Investigates is about the shocking disappearance and murder of a woman from New Mexico named Sasha Krause.

Krause disappeared in January 2020, and her body was found a month later outside of Arizona. She was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head. This was what killed her.

The official summary of the episode, which is called “The Grudge,” says:

When a Mennonite woman goes missing in January 2020, detectives will have to think outside the box to find the person who did it. The evidence they found on her body doesn’t lead them anywhere.

Find out who Sasha Krause was and what happened to her on that fateful January evening by reading on.

Sasha Krause was a woman who was 27 years old and had been born in Texas. She was said to have had six siblings. People who knew her well say that Krause was a very religious woman who liked reading and writing a lot.

When Sasha was 25, she moved to a Mennonite community in Farmington, New Mexico. Krause worked at a nearby bookstore and taught Sunday school before she died.

Krause went to Farmington Mennonite Church on January 18, 2020, to get some books for Sunday school the next day. When she didn’t come back to her room after a while, one of her roommates told the church. The church then told the police.

There was a big search for her, and cell phone records were used to try to find her. Her car was found near the church, but she didn’t have her purse with her. Over the next few weeks, the police came up with several ideas about what happened to her.

After more than a month, her body was found in Arizona. Her hands were tied together with duct tape, and her head had been shot. It was a.22 caliber gun that was used. Over the next few months, the police talked to people in her neighborhood and other people who knew her, but they couldn’t find any solid leads.

In the end, they used cell phone records to catch a US Air Force mechanic named Mark Gooch, who was 21 years old.

Why did Mark Gooch kill Sasha Krause?

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (@AP) — Jurors in the case against U.S. Air Force airman Mark Gooch heard from a cellphone data expert for a long time on Friday. The expert mapped the route that Gooch is said to have taken on the day a Mennonite woman was taken from northwest New Mexico.

Gooch was accused of kidnapping, killing, and stealing. During the trial, the government said that Gooch was angry at the Mennonite community. Mark and his brother Samuel also sent each other text messages that showed this. Samuel also told the authorities that Mark didn’t like people who followed the Mennonite faith.

Mark Gooch, who was 22, was found guilty of first-degree murder by a jury in October 2021. He was sentenced to life in prison without the chance of parole. He also got another 5 years in prison for kidnapping.

According to Oxygen, Krause’s mother wrote a heartfelt letter in which she said, “Sasha was more than our daughter, she was our friend.” Oxygen found a poem that Sasha wrote when she was in her late teens. The poem was read in court.

It says :

“If I die young, don’t think about the time I wasted getting ready for some day in the future. My God is not wrong to forget it.”
