Justin Sylvester, from the show “Marry Me,” went on Instagram to talk about and explain why he pushed Jenna Bush Hager on a recent Today show episode.
He put up a video explaining that Jenna did not invade his personal space and that people were “jumping to conclusions.”
On Wednesday, when the two were watching the show, they were trying to learn how to make a recipe. In a video clip from the segment, Justin tried to get away from the Today show host as Jenna got closer to him.
Jenna didn’t seem to understand what was going on until Justin gave her a little push. People watching the show noticed the moment and said Jenna was “invading” Justin’s space.
Justin Sylvester made it clear that he told Jenna Bush Hager to “spend some time alone with the chef.”
While getting a facial, the Daily Pop host decided to talk about what happened and put up a video saying:
“People thought that she was getting in my way, but that’s not true.”
He said that he was trying to flirt with the chef and that he pushed Jenna “out of the way” because he wanted a “one-on-one moment.” Here’s what Justin Sylvester said:
“What we did was flirt with each other. “…well, I was flirting with the chef because he was so cute, and I pushed her out of the way so I could talk to the chef alone, and people took it the wrong way.”
He said that “people jumped to conclusions” and said that Jenna was the “nicest, most welcoming” person he had ever met.
Justin Sylvester also said that Jenna and her co-host Hoda Kotb ask him to be on the Today show every time because they are “so good” to him.
He also said that Jenna was “awesome” and that he didn’t like that “People aren’t putting the event in its proper place.”
What happened on the Today With Hoda and Jenna show on Wednesday?
On the August 10 episode of Today With Hoda & Jenna, Justin Sylvester was one of the hosts. Jenna and Justin learned how to make a sweet and sticky roast chicken on the show.
A clip of the segment was taken and shared on social media. It showed the author of Everything Beautiful in Its Time trying to reach the E! News host.
Jenna patted Justin on the back, then held him by his shoulders and tried to put her hands around his arm. During this time, Justin tried to push the host away with his arm before finally using his hand to do so.
Jenna then raised her eyebrows and looked at the camera to show how she felt.
Many viewers seemed upset by Jenna’s actions. They said that if the roles had been switched, Justin would have been kicked off the show. Some people even said that she didn’t know what personal space was.
