This year marked Nate and Atoya’s 20th wedding anniversary.

When Nate attended the University of Nevada on a track and field scholarship as a hurdler and sprinter, he met his future wife there.
Atoya got a scholarship to study for a master’s degree at the University of Texas in Austin when she finished her senior year of college. She only needed to go through her last year of college at Nevada.
Nate, a then-18-year-old freshman, introduced himself and kissed Atoya’s hand when they first met in the elevator. Atoya was a 21-year-old senior leaving in May. This marked the start of their romantic relationship.
The two kept running into each other after their initial encounter. Their little exchange grew into hours of hilarity as the minutes passed.
Since he didn’t play football in his first year of college, she got to know him better because they were simply two kids having a wonderful time and enjoying life.
Atoya was delighted to have him there to support her as she competed in the hurdles, sprints, and relays, in contrast, and he could see it.
Nate Burleson’s Love Story’s Plot and Twist
Atoya received a phone call about another scholarship offer from the University of Nevada for her Master’s Degree as her senior year came to an end and she was getting ready to leave.
She would also keep helping coaches and players in the NCAA compliance division, which was the cherry on top. She did find that to be amazing.
She eventually stayed in Nevada, helping Nate through many of his games, including his first NCAA football game. In a nutshell, the University of Nevada made Nate and Atoya possible.

Nehemiah, Nathaniel, and Mia, three children of the couple, are being raised.

The proud father expressed his delight that his sons Nathaniel and Nehemiah shared his love of football. He claimed he never pressured them to sign with the NFL or forced them to like the sport.
Thankfully, they had a “genetically inherited enthusiasm for football” from birth. Similar to basketball, football is a demanding activity, so injuries are unavoidable.
The host of the television show is concerned that his sons will be hurt during the game. Nate had second thoughts about them playing football, but he still firmly backs his son’s choice.
Mia, however, went a different career path than her brothers. She also enjoys tennis, the arts, and theatre.

Alvin and Valerie Lynn Burleson, his parents, are two prominent and devoted sports figures. In the Canadian Football League (CFL), his father Al Burleson was a defensive back for the Calgary Stampeders at the time.
After his father joined the Los Angeles Express of the United States Football League in 1983, the family moved to the United States (USFL).
However, Burleson, who has a tattoo of a maple leaf and has publicly stated his ambition to play for Canada in a football World Cup, still feels proud of his Canadian heritage.
After an injury ended his playing career, Alvin Burleson moved his family to Seattle, Washington, in the United States, where he worked for Associated Grocers.

The brother team of Kevin and Nate Burleson was one of just two to play in both the NFL and the NBA at the same time.
Because it was also the mascot of his high school, Nate Burleson’s Seattle Seahawks jersey number, 81, is a tribute to his father’s influence.
Nate Burleson’s Career After Leaving the NFL

Burleson played wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, and Detroit Lions over the course of 11 NFL seasons. His selection came in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings.
He is the only player in NFL history to have returned three punts of 90 yards or more. At the University of Reno in Nevada, Burleson majored in communications and was a standout player for the Wolf Pack.
