Myra Hindley, who was responsible for the terrible Moors Murders, was for a long time thought to be the worst person in all of Britain.
Nearly 60 years after the boy died, forensic teams said they couldn’t find any visible signs of human remains. This led police to look for Keith Bennett, the Moors murder victim, in more places.
Archaeologists finished digging up the main area in the renewed search for 12-year-old Keith after they looked into rumors that a human skull had been found.
The search will now focus on the larger area of Saddleworth Moor in the Peak District. Soil samples have been taken for testing. Keith was killed by Ian Brady and Myra Hindley in 1964, but they never found his body.

Jean Ritchie’s 1988 book, Myra Hindley: Inside the Mind of a Murderer, says that Hindley grew up in a strict, poor home where her father beat her often and taught her to use violence to solve problems.
Hindley met Ian Brady when she was 18 and working as a typist in 1961. Even though she knew that Brady had broken into homes before, she couldn’t stop thinking about him.
Brady took her to a movie about the Nuremberg trials for their first date. Brady was very interested in German soldiers. He liked to read about criminals, and when he and she started going out, they shared a book about crimes against humanity during their lunch breaks.
Then, to look more like the Aryan ideal, Myra Hindley bleached her hair blonde and put on dark red lipstick. Then they talked about breaking the law together and dreamed up heists that would make them rich.
Hindley’s brother-in-law found out about them
In 1963, Pauline Reade was the first person they killed. Reade, who was 16, was going to a dance on July 12 when Hindley talked her into getting in her car and driving to the moor. Her body was found 20 years later, still wearing her ball gown and blue coat.
Keith Bennett and John Kilbride, two other kids, died the same way as Reade over the course of the next year. In December 1964, the couple will do the worst thing they ever did.
When Myra Hindley and Ian Brady saw 10-year-old Lesley Anne Downey by herself at a fair, they asked her to help them get some things out of their car. She was then taken to the house of Hindley’s grandmother.

In Brady’s inquest, it was said that his body mass index was not a cause for concern, even though he had repeatedly gone more than 48 hours without eating or drinking. Brady was given a nasogastric tube because of this.

Myra Hindley was born in Crumpsall on July 23, 1942. Her parents, Nellie and Bob Hindley, raised her in Gorton, which at the time was a working-class part of Manchester full of Victorian slums. Her father was an alcoholic who beat his wife and kids all the time. Hindley had to sleep in a single bed next to her parents’ double bed because the family home was in bad shape. She took up a collection for a wreath, and his funeral was held at St. Francis’s Monastery in Gorton Lane.
Hindley was baptized as a Catholic when she was a baby in 1942. The monastery where she was baptized stayed with her. Hindley’s father wanted her to be baptized as a Catholic, and her mother agreed, but only if she didn’t have to go to a Catholic school. Nellie Hindley thought that “all the monks taught was the catechism,” so she didn’t want her to go there.
