Michelle Danielle Collins is an English actress and television presenter. She was born on May 28, 1962 in England, and she is most recognised for her performances in the British soap operas EastEnders and Coronation Street.
Collins portrayed Cindy Beale in the British television soap opera EastEnders from 1988 until 1998, with the exception of a gap of two years between the years 1990 and 1992. Between the years 2011 and 2014, she portrayed Stella Price on the ITV serial opera Coronation Street. Other prominent roles that she has had on television include parts in the BBC series Real Women (1998–1999), Sunburn (1999–2000), and Two Thousand Acres of Sky (2000).

Smith requested Collins to audition for the character of Cindy Beale, who was to appear in 11 episodes of the soap opera and was to be played by Collins. The deceitful and irresponsible behaviour of her character was a fan favourite, which resulted in an extension of her contract and elevated status for the character as a significant antagonist in the series. Between the years 1988 and 1998, Cindy played the role of Ian Beale’s (Adam Woodyatt) cheating wife on the BBC soap opera EastEnders. Real Women was a drama that she filmed for the BBC alongside Pauline Quirke and Frances Barber during the time that she took off from filming EastEnders. Collins gave a brief performance as Cindy for Children in Need on November 14, 2014, as part of her ongoing commitment to the charity.
