Made in Abyss Season 2 Finale Recap

Faputa continues to combat the animals from outside the village that are wrecking the Narehate Village Ilblu. She views this as an attempt to strip her of the inherited responsibility that was given to her by her ancestors. Faputa recalls meeting Gabroon accidently a long time ago when he identified himself as an interference unit and was highly intrigued about her.

Faputa helped him restore himself and the two finally created a close bond with each other. He eventually gave the infant princess a name and was himself christened Gabroon. When Faputa learned that Reg had returned, she deliberating kidnapped Prushka from the group in order to lead them to Ilbu. Prushka was eventually found at Ilbu. She had expected that going there may recover Reg’s memory but it did not happen.

Meanwhile, Reg woke up and found himself with his friends. They soon meet Wazukiyan who is on his deathbed. He gave Riko and her friends a new perspective on looking at past events and made them promise that they will take care of Faputa. Suddenly, Moogie realises that Faputa is calling for them. However, unlike on other occasions, it appears that this time she genuinely needs their help.

In the meantime, Vueko is concerned about everyone’s well-being as the battle becomes more intense with each passing hour. She recalls Riko’s selflessly assisting people and being in awe of her goodness. However, because she is ignorant of the fact that the walls of the village have become broken in some places, she is doomed to suffer the effects of the curse once more. Her face instantly begins to deteriorate until she is luckily rescued soon afterward. Unfortunately, she eventually realises that the damage to her soul has already been done.

Does Faputa Finally Achieve Her Goal And Destroy the Narehate Village Ilblu?

As the beasts from outside continue to pour inside the city and attack the villagers, Faputa gets fired up even more. She teams up with Juroimoh and unleashes a violent exchange of blows that appears to have no end. The two fighters will eventually face up against a Turbinid dragon at some point. The high-intensity combat burns a fire in Faputa’s heart, but Juroimoh soon dies in battle and she is left alone.

However, Faputa shows no fear at all and continues to engage the Turbinid dragon. To her amazement, Reg emerges on her side all of a sudden. Instead of continuing their old arguments, he makes it very clear to her that he is there to fight by her side. As he manages the Turbinid dragons, Faputa approaches some of the people that were with Riko and Nanachi. She explains to them that she intends to make use of them in order to wring the last bit of value out of the village before she completely razes it to the ground.

Moogie explains, much to her surprise, that they themselves came to see her for the same reason she was there. Meanwhile, Reg continues to fight more efficiently with the Turbinid dragons, thanks to Riko using the White Whistle again. On the other hand, Faputa ultimately decides to begin destroying the village in order to provide her mother with the tranquilly that she so rightfully requires. She eventually achieves her goal, which can be seen when the walls of the village begin to crumble and debris begins to fall all over the place. At that point, everyone is aware that the Narehate Village Ilblu is in the process of disintegrating.

Is Vueko Dead?

After the village is finally destroyed, Riko and her friends flee to safety in order to safeguard themselves from the debris. At the same time, Faputa has used up all of her strength at this point as well, and she falls into an accidently created gap between two massive crevasses. As she is falling, she appears to have made peace with her fate but is saved at the last second by Reg. They ultimately make it to a cave up ahead and decide to hide out there for a while before continuing their journey.

Additionally, Veuko is present with Riko and her companions, all of whom have emerged unscathed from the terrifying encounter. Unfortunately, Vueko is not that lucky as she continues to struggle for every breath. When she reaches the point where she can finally see Faputa in front of her, she begins to crawl toward her. Meanwhile, Faputa has also realised that she used to be extremely close to her mother at one point thus she becomes pretty interested.

She envelops her in a hug and then inquires about Vueko’s mother from her. She is taken aback by the fact that Vueko does not avoid telling her that Irumyuui used to be quite possessive, which is in contrast to her own personality. She goes on to briefly explain the moments the two of them shared together, while Faputa quietly listens. Unfortunately, Vueko has gotten so feeble that with each minute her breathing becomes more laborious.

Vueko’s body eventually gives up the struggle against the pain, resulting in her passing away despite her best efforts. Moments before that Faputa had mentioned that she meant so much to her mother that she had never shared anything about Vueko, as she was in a true sense only hers. But despite not knowing her, Faputa cannot control her tears and cries profusely after Vueko’s death.

Does Faputa Accept Reg’s Offer to Join Him And His Friends on Their Adventures?

After Veuko’s death, Faputa decides to give her a proper burial. As she weeps, she suddenly recalls that she has also lost Gaburoon just recently. When Reg senses that she is ready to break down entirely, he instantly approaches her and invites her to join his companions on their future excursions. Faputa immediately gets angry and argues that he cannot expect something like that from her since the memories of their time together in the past are completely washed away from his mind.

Reg is taken aback momentarily but makes the case that even if that is true, they can still start a new journey. He now understands her nature very intimately, so they must give each other another chance. Faputa first is apprehensive but eventually agrees to accompany Reg and his companions as they begin on adventures again.
