The Dallas Wings of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) have just hired Latricia Trammell to be their new head coach. Before this, she had spent the last four seasons as an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Sparks.

The WNBA Dallas Wings have hired Latricia Trammell, a sports analyst and assistant coach for the Los Angeles Sparks, to be their new head coach.

The Next was the first to report that Trammell had been hired as a coach on November 1. Last Monday, November 7, the Wings made it official. Sources told The Next that she was likely to sign a three-year deal.

She took over for Vickie Johnson, who led the team to a 32-36 record and two trips to the playoffs in 2021 and 2022. On September 19, Dallas fired Johnson because of this.

Greg Bibb, the president and CEO of Wings, said in a statement on Monday that he has admired Latricia’s way of working for a long time. He said that Latricia’s focus on preparation, communication, and teamwork makes people want to learn and grow all the time.

They are excited to see how Latricia will lead their talented team as they continue to improve on the court and try to win the WNBA title.

The Wings decided to go with Trammell because of his nearly 30 years of coaching experience at the professional, college, and high school levels.

Trammell said that she thinks her time as a coach at all levels has prepared her for this chance. And she was more than ready to get to work for this team and its fans in North Texas as a whole.

Latricia was born in Claremore, Oklahoma, United States of America (USA).
Being the daughter of Edna Trammell and Bobby Trammell, she also has three older brothers as her siblings in the family.

Latricia Trammell went to Oklahoma City University for three years, where she won back-to-back NAIA national titles and had an 85-10 (.895) record. In the spring of 2015, she moved to Georgia State University. During those three years, her teams had the best record in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC), which was 51-3 (.944).

In 2015–16, Trammell’s first year at Georgia State, he helped the Panthers’ coaching staff get to know nine new players. During that time, she helped Madison Newby grow, and Newby went on to win the Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year award. Trammell played college basketball at Western State (Colorado). She had a career shooting percentage of 16/15 and made it to the championship game of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Shootout for the fifth year in a row in 2011-12.

She helped bring back the Western State women’s basketball team, leading the Mountaineers to their first home playoff appearance since 1987, their first postseason win since 1988, and their longest string of consecutive playoff appearances since the middle of the 1980s. This was done with a total of 4.2 scholarships, which was less than any other team in the league.
