Shooting in Kenny Wood Park, What Happened Their?

It was reported to the police early on Sunday morning that multiple people had been shot inside Kenny Wood Park in West Mifflin late on Saturday night. The park is located in West Mifflin. In their haste to flee the gunshots, officers suffered what the police referred to as “trample injuries.” According to Allegheny County Police, three people were shot inside of the park in the portion of the park known as “Lost Kenny wood” which is located near the Music Express ride.
According to the county police superintendent Christopher Kearns, the shootings took place at approximately 10:50 p.m. in front of the Musik Express ride in the Lost Kennywood section of the park as a result of “an incident” between two groups of young men. The ride is located in the Kennywood Amusement Park.
What Ultimately Transpired With The Victims?
There are three people who have been hurt as a result of the gunshot. Two people were shot; one was a child of 15 years old who is currently recuperating at Children’s Hospital, and the other was an adult guy who was shot, treated, and then released.
A third person who was hit by bullets made their own way to McKeesport Hospital, where they are currently receiving medical assistance.

Superintendent Kearns mentioned that they were looking for a young black male in connection with the incident.

Investigation by the Police
On the grounds of Kennywood, the police discovered one handgun and reported their discovery. When it was claimed that there would be “mass casualties,” emergency medical services teams from all throughout Allegheny County and Westmoreland County were sent to the park. This past weekend marked the beginning of Kennywood’s renowned Phantom Fall Fest, which is known to bring in a significant number of visitors on a yearly basis to the amusement park. A pair of sunglasses was found laying on the ground in front of the Musik Express ride early on Sunday morning, and police officers could be seen standing in front of the ride. There was incident tape stretched up and evidence markers set up.
About The Shooting That Took Place in Kenny Wood Park
Around 2:30 in the morning on Sunday, the communication manager for Kennywood, Tasha Pokrzywa, released the following statement: “The park is closed for the night and all visitors have left.” An incident that took place earlier this evening has brought us together with the local law enforcement officials.
First and foremost, we are committed to protecting the well-being of both our employees and our guests. West Mifflin and Allegheny County law enforcement officials, along with members of the park’s security team, had already been at the scene when the incident occurred. At 1:30 in the morning, the majority of the emergency personnel and responding police had dispersed. The police reported that they were letting workers back into the park one at a time to retrieve their belongings, and they did this while the police continued to disperse.
As the investigation within the park continued, Duquesne resident Valerie Franklin waited at the entrance for her son Brandon, who is 19 years old. While she waited, the investigation continued. She asserted that he had recently started working at Kennywood for the first time. At around 11 p.m. on Saturday, Ms. Franklin claimed she was listening to her police scanner when she overheard a call about a person in the park with a gun. She stated, “I was terrified and contacted him right soon,” adding that when Brandon picked up the phone, he informed her that he had heard gunshots and saw people fleeing.
She remarked, “I pray for the children and the people being transported.
West Mifflin resident Ward Troetschel claimed to have arrived at Kennywood for the Phantom Fall Fest at 9:45 p.m. He recalled seeing “far too many unaccompanied adolescents” at the time. Also, he claimed that he left the park at 10:30 p.m. because of the belligerent behavior of young people who “were trying to start fights.”
He claimed that groups of at least 100 people sprinted past him twice or three times as he departed. The scene, according to Mr. Troetschel, was “quite chaotic.” The park closes on Sunday and reopens on Friday.
A notice on the park’s website states that anyone who purchased a Fall Fest ticket for Sunday may use it on any other Fall Fest night. Police were going to use surveillance footage from the park, according to Supt. Kearns, to help with their investigation.
