Kaysera from Pretty Places: How Did She Die?

Kaysera Stops Pretty Places, a citizen of Big Horn County, Montana, died when she was just 18 years old. By the accounts of many who knew her, Kaysera was a happy but responsible person who constantly put the needs of her friends and loved ones above her own.

In addition, Kaysera was renowned for her compassion and her willingness to provide a helping hand to those in need.

The 18-year-old was a fantastic student, very involved in her community, and had high expectations for the future. She had no idea, though, that fate had a terrible plan for her.

On August 24, 2019, Kaysera made the decision to go to a party in Hardin, Montana with her pals. She was scheduled to spend the night at the party, but when she didn’t come home the next day, her loved ones became worried. They immediately gathered a team of volunteers and started searching the neighbourhood for Kaysera.

They approached the police and reported the missing 18-year-old, but only after realising there was no news about her. It’s interesting that the programme alleges that law enforcement personnel registered the complaint carelessly and allowed the situation to continue for a few days.

Because of this, when a bystander found Kaysera’s death on August 29, the police were unaware that she was missing.

A man in a car travelling along a road in Hardin on August 29, 2019, observed something strange in the backyard of one of the homes.

He returned right away to look into it and found a young dead girl’s remains. First responders were able to recover the remains and even send it in for an autopsy once they arrived on the site.

According to accounts, police allegedly took many days to inform Kaysera Stops Pretty Places’ family of the event even though the body was quickly identified as being hers.

The coroner conducted a standard examination in the interim and discovered alcohol in the teen’s system. He was unable to rule out indications of asphyxiation, hence Kaysera’s death’s cause and manner of death remain unknown.

Kaysera Stops Pretty Places: Was She Murdered?

The authorities have been unable to establish whether foul play was involved in Kaysera’s death up until this point.

The Big Horn County Native American community was understandably dissatisfied with the law enforcement organisations looking into the case because they believed that prompt action might have assisted her family in learning the truth.

In addition, the programme alleged that Kaysera had recorded a video of multiple police officers abusing her brother soon before she vanished, and several people thought this caused them to ignore her case. However, as nothing has been confirmed as of yet, these assertions should be treated with caution.

The discovery of Kaysera’s body in the backyard of the home next door to the one she was visiting on August 24, 2019, shocked those investigating her death. In addition, the programme asserts that Terry Bullis, Big Horn County’s former coroner, burned Kaysera’s body against her family’s wishes, perhaps causing the loss of crucial evidence.

Over time, it was revealed that Natosi Summers, a guy, had brought alcohol to the party on the day Kaysera vanished. Furthermore, Kaysera was last seen with her pals Nakia Spotted Horse and Isabella Anderson Villegas, and several were shocked to find that Natosi and Isabella were dating at the time.

When questioned, Nakia revealed that Isabella and Natosi had gotten into a fight during the home party, and that Kaysera had been attempting to break up the fight just before she vanished.

An August 2021 report that claimed Kaysera was last seen arguing with a 17-year-old girl, a 19-year-old lady, and a 23-year-old male verified this assertion. The 18-year-old fled into the yard, where she was subsequently discovered dead, as a neighbour attempted to disperse the gathering since the fight was becoming quite loud.

We regret to inform you that, despite the fact that the police have not yet established what led to Kaysera’s murder, there has been no additional development in the investigation since the report from August 2021.

The investigation is still ongoing because the teen’s family is committed to learning the truth about what caused her unexpected and heartbreaking death.

Kaysera from Pretty Places: Age

This August, Kaysera Stops Pretty Places would have turned 20 years old. A little more than a mile from the Crow Reservation where she was raised, her body was discovered in Hardin, Montana, toward the end of the summer, two years ago.

Since Kaysera’s death, her distraught family has been searching nonstop for information and justice in what they believe to be her murder. Every day, they invoke her name.

They have organised protests, vigils, and calls to action. They have also spoken on panels and urged government officials to act. Kaysera.

Kaysera from Pretty Places: Justice

Kaysera’s aunt, Dr. Grace Bulltail, told Dateline that this was the third year that she has organised calls for action to demand justice for Kaysera. “Our family has had to fight for themselves at every turn. We continue to struggle to make law enforcement accountable for looking into her murder.

Two years after the 18-year-body old’s was discovered in Hardin, the Big Horn County Attorney Jay Harris made a report about the investigation into her death public in August. The family, however, took issue with the account and told Dateline they were left with more questions than answers.

According to Kaysera’s aunt, the study is more of a character probe into her niece than a live investigation into her death, and she also claims that officials have never thought that she might have been a murder victim.

Kaysera, whom Grace Bulltail considers her daughter, was raised by her grandparents when she was growing up in Big Horn County. Despite the difficulties she had while residing on the reservation, Kaysera, a member of the Crow tribe, is remembered by her aunt as having a loving and sensitive personality.

Grace currently resides in Wisconsin and works as an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin-Nelson Madison’s Institute for Environmental Studies.

She said to Dateline that due to the alarming amount of Indigenous women who have gone missing and been murdered in the region, life in Big Horn County is like living in a completely separate universe.

She said to Dateline, “If something happens to you there, if something happens to your loved one, you’re on your own.” “No one would hear these women’s experiences if their families remained silent. Nobody would stand up for them. It is up to us to speak for them.

Kaysera from Pretty Places: Disappearance

Grace claimed that their relatives were unaware of Kaysera’s disappearance on August 24, 2019, in Hardin, Montana. They were still unaware on August 29, five days after her death was discovered.

Officials from Big Horn County didn’t inform them that Kaysera’s body had been discovered by a jogger on a home on a backyard corner at the intersection of Mitchell Avenue and Rangeview Drive until September 11, 2019.

Big Horn County Attorney Harris uses witness accounts from four first-hand witnesses in a report that was published in August 2021.

The statements, according to the county attorney, are not “fully consistent,” but they generally describe a sequence of incidents that led to a dispute involving Kaysera and three other individuals—a 17-year-old girl, a 19-year-old woman, and a 23-year-old man—outside of a Rangeview Drive residence at around 3 a.m.

According to the report, a member of Kaysera’s family allegedly informed detectives that Kaysera had been hanging out at the residence on Rangeview Drive and that a resident had bought her alcohol while she was there.

The fight allegedly caused a nearby homeowner to trigger their car alarm in effort to disperse them, according to witness comments included in the report.

They took off in various directions. In the backyard, where her body would later be found, Kaysera was spotted jogging. According to the report, the site is close to the home of the individual who gave her the booze.

According to the article, there is no evidence that demonstrates if Kaysera was in communication with anyone after she was seen leaving the house for the garden, and the precise circumstances of her disappearance are still being looked into.

There was “no evidence of damage or natural disease,” according to an autopsy report that was included in the county attorney’s report.

Alcohol was found in the blood during toxicology tests. Although there were no signs of neck injuries during the examination, suffocation cannot be ruled out as the cause of death.

The cause and manner of death are currently categorised as unknown. If new evidence becomes available in the future, the cause and method of death may be reclassified.

Kaysera from Pretty Places: Found

According to the study, Kaysera had a blood ethanol concentration of 0.149 when she was found on August 29, 2019.

The family has received paperwork that is consistent with this passage, according to Grace, who also noted that it is impossible to rule out asphyxia without also ruling out asphyxia caused by assault. The medical examiners she spoke with about the case, she continued, did not find the blood alcohol levels to be a severe cause for worry.

Grace told Dateline that there doesn’t seem to have been any serious investigation attempts between August 30, 2019, and September 19, 2019, and that there is no proof that officials filed a missing person report with the National Crime Information Center after Kaysera vanished.

Nearly ten years later, Oklahoman Rick Larabee is still unaccounted for.

A man is accused of killing Jared Bridegan in 2022.

But according to the report, on October 1, 2019, the Big Horn County Attorney requested the formation of a Missing and Murdered Persons Task Force to handle all “suspicious deaths or suspected homicides” inside the county that fall under state jurisdiction. The sheriff’s office then restarted significant investigating efforts during the first week of October.

The Kaysera’s death inquiry was handed over to the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office in 2020. As a result of the COVID-19 public health emergency, the report claims that “just a review of the evidence and no additional investigative efforts were made.”
