Julia Tomlin: Mother in Virginia tortured and killed her 2-year-old autistic son & putting his body in a diaper box

On Monday, July 25, Virginian Julia Leanna Tomlin was sentenced to 55 years in jail for killing her 2-year-old son, Noah Tomlin. Julia, 37, entered a plea of guilty in December to charges of criminal child abuse, second-degree murder, and hiding a dead corpse.
According to a medical examiner’s report, Noah suffered from battered child syndrome and severe force head injuries. Noah’s remains were discovered at a steam plant in Hampton, according to Commonwealth’s attorney Anton A. Bell’s statement to People. Bell asserted, “This youngster endured severe beatings. The body of this child could no longer withstand it. Noah was glad to see death because his body was reaching its limit. The abuse was simply so severe.” At Julia’s sentence, her daughter, who is 19 years old, asked for the highest penalty.
According to the 19-year-old, “My mother, Julia Tomlin, has never been suitable to be a parent.” “Even when she professed to be doing so, she has always put her needs first and has never prioritized those of her children. Her children have all been taken away from her and shouldn’t have ever been given back to her.”

At the sentencing hearing, Julia’s lawyer, Tyrone Johnson, told the judge that Julia had been subjected to years of mental and physical abuse by both her parents and a boy she had dated when she was a teenager.
A missing child report was made to Julia’s trailer in Bayside Village Mobile Home Park on June 24, 2019. According to Julia’s claimed statements to the police, she put her three young children to bed the night before, and when she woke up the next morning, Noah was gone.
Noah, who had an autistic diagnosis, had been kidnapped, according to Julia’s initial account. However, she later claimed that Noah had been left alone in the bathtub when he hit his head and drowned. Julia acknowledged using heroin as well. Bell asserted that when Noah called for assistance, Julia asked a friend to bring cleaning supplies and dispose of his remains.
“Tomlin would subsequently confess that later that night, which was the early morning of June the 23rd, she had wrapped Noah’s dead body, placed it in a diaper box, triple-bagged the box with three garbage bags, and given it to [her friend] to dispose of,” Bell said. Tomlin insisted that her companion was ignorant of the package’s contents.
Authorities spent several days looking for Noah before finding his remains, which Julia’s companion had dumped in a dump outside of town. Further inquiry, according to Bell, led to the discovery of the boy’s blood on a bedroom wall and a bed sheet in the trash. Bell concluded that Noah’s injuries were consistent with child abuse.

Noah’s growth was reportedly stunted, according to Bell’s citation of the medical examiner. He said it was clear from the autopsy that the youngster had stopped eating at some point, which would have been reasonable given that a child in such suffering would have found it painful to consume food.
