Joshua Jaynes, a former detective with the Louisville Metro Police who was fired for making up the search warrant that led to the deadly raid on Taylor’s apartment in 2020, was arrested by the FBI on Thursday morning and taken to the Oldham County Detention Center, according to Jaynes’ lawyer, Thomas Clay.

During the three days of court proceedings, Joshua Jaynes and his lawyer, Thomas Clay, argued for Jaynes to be put back on the force. They said that the former detective had not lied on the affidavit he signed in March 2020.
Jaynes was fired at the beginning of January because he said something in his sworn statement that former interim Chief Yvette Gentry thought was not true.
Jaynes said that a U.S. Postal Inspector had confirmed that Taylor’s ex-boyfriend Jamarcus Glover, who was thought to be a drug dealer, was having packages sent to her apartment. Jaynes had talked to Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly, who had information from Shively Police and not the post office inspector.
