Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande connection is examined as the former describes her envy in a new memoir with the words, “I couldn’t like her”

Former American actress and novelist Jennette McCurdy confesses in her most recent memoir that she was envious of Ariana Grande, who was her co-star in the film at the time.

The 30-year-old actress discussed her experience working on the Nickelodeon sitcom Sam & Cat alongside Grande, who was allegedly given preferential treatment over her, in her latest book, I’m Glad my Mom Died.

McCurdy, who starred in the show from 2013 to 2014, was quoted by Entertainment Tonight as calling Grande “a rising pop star” who frequently skipped shooting to record new music or perform at award ceremonies in order to “angrily hold down the fort.”

While Jennette McCurdy claimed that she was not treated equally, she claimed to understand why Grande was excused from the shoot but not why she was “allowed to.”

Because the iCarly team wouldn’t let me be written out of episodes to go shoot them, I had to decline two features that I had booked while working on the show.

The former child star also expressed her rage after being informed that Ariana wouldn’t be available to shoot for a full week.

“The week I was informed that Ariana would not be there at all and that her character would be imprisoned in this episode to make up for her absence. Do you. I’m kidding. Therefore, I must decline movies while Ariana is busy crooning at the Billboard Music Awards. F**k. This.”

The moment that Ariana Grande spent time with Tom Hanks was Jennette McCurdy’s breaking point.

McCurdy said in her memoir that Ariana Grande had cost her opportunities in a number of instances. She reached her limit, too, when the Thank U, Next singer “came whistle-toning in with enthusiasm” after she “spent the previous evening playing charades at Tom Hanks’ residence,” claims Entertainment Tonight.

“I broke at that very moment. I was at my wits’ end. Whatever, I’ll get over magazine covers and musical performances. But a family game at the residence of Tom Hanks, star of National Treasure and a two-time Academy Award winner and six-time nominee? I’m through. I wasn’t a fan of her. I was unable to like her.”

Jennette McCurdy claimed that while “hanging out with Sheriff Woody, with Forrest F**king Gump” was too much for her, she could have handled Ariana Grande’s popularity as a pop artist.

“She now perceives every absence from work as a personal slight. I feel cheated out of enjoying that feeling every time anything wonderful occurs to her.”

Jennette McCurdy acknowledged that she would not be in a dreadful situation with Nickelodeon’s “sh**ty show uttering these sh**ty lines” if she had not been “such a good sport to begin with.”

“Maybe everything in my life would be different right now. I imagine it being different in my dreams. But nothing has changed. This is it. That’s the way it is. While I perform my act with a box, Ariana misses work to pursue her singing career. It has made me furious. And I’m furious with her. envy for her.”
