Officers stated that they received a call just after 12:40 a.m. the previous day to a property on Leinster Road and discovered her with injuries that were consistent with gunshot wounds.

Following concerns that a woman’s safety may have been compromised, the police were called to a residence on Leinster Road in the Old Swan neighborhood of the city at approximately 12:40 in the morning.
They found her with gunshot wounds in the garden at the back of the property when they arrived. She had been there for some time.

Ms. Dale was described as “an innocent member of the public” who was “callously and thoughtlessly shot,” according to the Det. Ch. Supt. Mark Kameen.

Mr. Kameen asked the community to “come together” to locate the offender and said that locals should feel “a sense of complete disgust, revulsion, and outrage” at Ms. Dale’s killing. Mr. Kameen also said that the community should “come together” to find Ms. Dale’s killer.
He said: “A young woman’s passing may certainly be attributed to the fact that this was a very frightening situation that led to her death.
“I am aware of how unsettling events of this nature can appear to members of the general public, and in the upcoming hours and days, we will be reaching out to members of the community, both in the immediate area and further afield, to reassure them that we are making progress in our investigation to identify the person or people responsible for this incident.
“On the streets of Merseyside, crimes committed with firearms have no place, and we will not stop at anything in our pursuit of individuals guilty for these crimes. There is now an investigation being conducted, and several potential avenues of inquiry are being looked into right now.
Mr. Kameen continued by saying, “She was in her own house… and she has been callously and thoughtlessly shot by persons who have no regard for anyone in our society and no regard for the law.”
Speaking on Sunday, Detective Superintendent Mark Baker said the following: “This investigation is in the very early stages and while we understand that the public will be very shocked and concerned by what has happened, we have a number of officers at the scene who are carrying out extensive inquiries in order to understand what has taken place and to take immediate action.”
“Today, a woman’s life was taken in a senseless tragedy, and I want to reassure the general public that we will do everything in our power to determine who is responsible for her death and bring that person to justice.”
Mr Baker added: “I would like to request that anyone who was in the area of Leinster Road in the early hours of this morning and who either saw or heard anything or who believes that they may have captured anything significant on their doorbell camera or dashcam get in touch with us as soon as possible because they may have information that is essential to our investigation.
“I would like to extend an invitation to anyone who believes they may be in possession of further information that could be useful to our inquiry to get in touch with us.
“I am especially interested in speaking with anyone who may have witnessed a car being driven in an irregular manner in the area surrounding Prescot Road.
On Tuesday, Sam Rimmer, 22, was found dead on Lavrock Bank in Dingle after being shot multiple times. Detectives are searching for four individuals spotted fleeing the area on electric bikes seconds after the killing.
At this point, there is no evidence to imply that there is any connection between the two killings that have taken place.
