After a representative declared Anne Heche to be legally dead, her eldest son, Homer Laffoon, expressed his sorrow in a recently issued statement. Heche, 53, passed away on Friday, August 12, after spending nearly a week in a severe condition while comatose. The actor’s son spoke about his sorrow upon his mother’s passing in a statement given to People via an actress publicist.
The statement read, “My brother Atlas and I lost our Mom.” “I am left with a deep, unutterable grief after six days of absolutely unimaginable emotional ups and downs. I hope my mum is no longer in pain and starting to experience what I like to think of as her eternal freedom. Thousands of friends, family members, and admirers reached out to me over the course of those six days. I’m appreciative of their support as well as that of my stepmother Alexi and father Coley, who continue to be my pillars of strength at this trying time. I love you, Mom, rest in peace.
The 20-year-old son of Heche and her ex-husband Coleman Laffoon is named Homer. Atlas Heche Tupper, his 13-year-old half-brother, is the son of James Tupper, an actor who co-starred with Heche in the television series “Men in Trees.” Tupper paid tribute to his ex by writing “love you forever” along with an emoji of a shattered heart on Instagram.
A representative for the actress spoke on behalf of Heche’s family and friends and stated, “Today we lost a bright light, a gentle and most joyous person, a loving mother, and a faithful friend.” The statement said, “Anne will be greatly missed, but she lives on via her gorgeous sons, her iconic body of work, and her ardent activism.” “She will continue to have a lasting impact because of her courage in always speaking the truth and sharing her message of love and acceptance.” The spokesman also affirmed that Heche’s heart was still beating even though she was technically still alive under California law. In order to give OneLegacy Foundation time to identify candidates who will be a match for receiving her organs, she has not been taken off of life support.
Heche was involved in an automobile collision on August 5, MEAWW previously reported. She struck an apartment building garage at first, fled, then struck Lynne Mishele’s house, starting a fire that finally destroyed the residence. The actress’s health is critical. She was burned by the fire and afterwards taken to a nearby hospital where she underwent intubation.
