Gene Snitsky Bio
Snitsky played football when a student at Panther Valley High School in his early years. Snitsky was a punter while he was in high school. He received the All-State honor in his senior year. After graduating in 1988, Snitsky accepted a full scholarship to play for the University of Missouri, where he was coached by Andy Reid, who would later become the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. Snitsky attended training camps with the intention of playing professional football after competing for the Missouri Tigers. He ultimately decided to sign with the San Diego Chargers. Snitsky re-aggravated a shoulder problem from his undergraduate years that had been misdiagnosed during practice. He was unable to play in the NFL as a result of the injury.

Snisky performed in the promotion as “Mean” Gene Snitsky after receiving training from the World Xtreme Wrestling (WXW), based in Allentown, Pennsylvania. As part of a football gimmick, he and his partner Robb Harper, known as the Twin Tackles, won the tag-team championship. He won the WXW Heavyweight Championship when he entered singles competition. Snitsky was admitted to the WXW Hall of Fame in 2013.

The day after winning the WXW Championship on October 20, 2003 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania at a Raw taping, Snisky competed in a tryout match for the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Gene Snitsky, a fellow WXW wrestler, defeated Snisky, wrestling as Gene Snitsky. He was given a developmental contract and assigned to Ohio Valley Wrestling after this match (OVW). Snisky competed in OVW as Mike Mondo’s brother, “Mean” Gene Mondo (a moniker influenced by “Mean” Gene Okerlund).
Newcomer and Heat stalwart (2004–2006)
On the September 13, 2004 episode of Raw, he competed in his first WWE match against Kane in a no-disqualification contest. Lita, who was (kayfabe) carrying Kane’s child, diverted Kane’s attention as he was getting ready to hurt Snitsky. Snitsky would take advantage of the diversion to strike Kane with the chair from behind, causing Kane to fall on Lita and cause Lita to miscarry her unborn child. Snitsky fiercely asserted, when questioned about the incident, “It Wasn’t My Fault” (which would later come to be the character’s catchphrase). As a result, Kane was able to make a face turn, and Snitsky was able to quickly transition into a heel wrestler.
Years later, Snitsky, who made his debut as an apparent jobber versus Kane, would admit that his original plan was for him to make a one-night cameo, return for OVW for additional training, and then be brought back up to the main roster on a full-time basis. Snitsky had to be flown in on the company’s corporate jet only to make it to Raw on time because WWE decided to promote him to the main roster full-time at the last minute due to how successful the Kane and Lita angle had done.
Then, he and Kane became up in a heated argument that resulted in a match at Taboo Tuesday. Snitsky used a steel chair during this encounter to squish Kane’s larynx. When Kane was actually scheduled to appear in the WWE-produced film See No Evil, WWE utilized this angle as an excuse for his absence. At the New Year’s Revolution pay-per-view, this feud was picked back up as Kane made a comeback and defeated Snitsky. Snitsky and Kane’s feud came to an end on the January 31 episode of Raw when Snitsky lost in a steel cage match.
Snitsky met Heidenreich, a character who resembled him, at Survivor Series. They engaged in a heated discussion about each other, exchanging phrases like “I enjoy your poetry” and “I like what you do to infants,” which are both a part of their distinctive speaking styles. When Snitsky was busted open by Maven in the main event’s match between Team Triple H and Team Orton, he was later disqualified for hitting Maven with a steel chair. The two crossed paths once more at the 2005 Royal Rumble when Snitsky secretly teamed up with Heidenreich in order to sabotage Heidenreich’s match with The Undertaker in a casket. Later, it was discovered that Kane, who attacked Snitsky and Heidenreich, was concealed within the coffin. Before allowing the casket bout to continue, they continued their altercation in the audience. Snitsky took part in the Royal Rumble event later that evening, when he defeated Paul London before being defeated by Batista.

Snitsky had a chance to win the Intercontinental Championship once his rivalry with Kane ended, which was then held by Shelton Benjamin. Snitsky was eliminated from the competition after striking Benjamin with a steel chair.
Due to a blood bleed in his stomach, he missed WWE television from April to May 2005. He made a comeback on May 28 and made a second appearance on Raw on May 30, where he officially started his broadcast feud with Chris Benoit, his opponent from the house show. Snitsky was a “hired gun” for Eric Bischoff’s Raw volunteers, and he was brought in to try to interrupt the pay-per-view and destroy the ECW reunion; the conflict involved Benoit’s attendance at ECW One Night Stand.
Edge, Lita, and Eric Bischoff used Snitsky as a weapon to attack Kane and anyone else he did not like. On the July 11 episode of Raw, Edge revealed that he was aware of Snitsky’s female foot obsession and invited him to “have a go with Lita’s feet” in exchange for his assistance in a match against Kane. When Lita really thanked Snitsky for his actions nine months earlier, stating that she was better off for not having given birth to Kane’s offspring, and then gave him a kiss as payment, their history was addressed.
Snitsky and WWE Champion John Cena squared off in the Lumberjack match on the July 18 episode of Raw. Chris Jericho selected only heel lumberjacks in order to unfairly disadvantage Cena.
After a few weeks of primarily competing on Heat, Snitsky and an initially reticent Tyson Tomko established a tag team. The two defeated Viscera and Val Venis, a tag team, in their debut team bout together. The two would see some success as a tag team, at one point being named the top contenders for the World Tag Team Championship. Big Show and Kane, with whom Snitsky had previously engaged in conflict, stood in their way of the duo taking the titles. When Tomko left WWE in April 2006, the team was disbanded.
Following that, Snitsky changed sides and joined forces with Goldust to defeat several wrestling teams on Heat, earning them a shot at the championship against Spirit Squad, but they were unsuccessful.
