Fear Street 4: Plot, Review, Release Date, Cast, Trailer, Where To Watch and More
It has been claimed that a director has been cast in the upcoming instalment of the Fear Street franchise on Netflix.
Fear Street is a popular series of horror novels for young adults written by the same author who wrote the Goosebumps book series.
The first books in the series were published between 1989 and 1999, and the series was relaunched in 2014.
They were adapted into a trilogy of live-action films that were released by Netflix over the course of three consecutive weeks in the summer of 2021.
The films tell a series of connected supernatural slasher stories that take place in the cursed small town of Shadyside in the years 1994, 1978, and 1666 respectively.

Fear Street 4: Review
Above the Line reports that Chloe Okuno has been set to helm the upcoming instalment in the Fear Street film franchise.
Aside from the fact that the original producers Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and David Ready will be involved again in the project, there is currently no more information available regarding the endeavour.
There is currently no information available on whether this will be a single film or another trilogy, nor is there any confirmation regarding which characters will be making a return.
The fact that Chloe Okuno has previous experience in the horror genre is beneficial to Fear Street 4
Even though Okuno is only starting out as a filmmaker, she has a significant amount of experience working in the horror subgenre.
Due to the success of her 2014 short film Slut, which received a lot of positive feedback, she was given the opportunity to take part in the exclusive found footage anthology sequel V/H/S/94 that will be released on Shudder in October of 2021.
She penned and directed the part titled “Storm Drain” for that project. In it, she followed a news crew as they investigated claims of a monster that was half-human and half-man that was said to be hiding in the local sewers.
Okuno went on to make her feature film debut this year with the horror thriller Watcher.
The film starred The Guest’s Maika Monroe as a young American lady who travels to Bucharest, where her next-door neighbour might very well be a serial killer.
Okuno directed the film. In addition, she was a contributor to an episode of the Let the Right One In revival series on Showtime, which is a Nordic vampire drama.
It is the third live-action project to adapt John Ajvide Lindqvist’s novel of the same name, following the Swedish film adaptation from 2008 and its remake in 2010 starring Chloe Grace Moretz.

The thing that distinguishes her work throughout all of these varied projects, in addition to the genre itself, is that she has demonstrated that she is a chameleon who can convey horror stories using a variety of tones and styles. This is what defines her work.
The Fear Street trilogy has been finished, and all the information regarding the curse that had been plaguing Shadyside for millennia has been disclosed, but does this really mean that the series is over?
Fear Street 4: Plot
Fans were in for one last surprise when the credits rolled on Fear Street Part 3: 1666 since it showed the widow’s book of spells being snatched by an unknown person.
It’s a good guess that the book was taken by someone who knew what it could accomplish, which is make a bargain with the Devil to get whatever you desire, which means that Shadyside might not be free just yet.
Leigh Janiak, who directed and co-wrote all three movies in the Fear Street trilogy, said in an interview with Collider that the scene during the credits isn’t simply a fun beat for fans, but that they actually “have ideas” for how Fear Street may continue after this trilogy.
Given that there’s a lot of source material to draw from in RL Stine’s books and a way to spin out from the original story in the trilogy, those ideas might include Janiak’s vision to turn the series into a horror version of the MCU. This is because there’s a way to spin out from the original story in the trilogy.
In an interview with IndieWire, she stated, “One of the things that I talked about before I was hired was that we have a possibility here to build a horror Marvel, where you can have slasher killers from a lot of various eras.”
This was one of the things that I talked about before I was hired.
You have the canon of our primary mythology, which is constructed around the fact that the devil lives in Shadyside, therefore there’s also opportunity for everything else.
I think that my hope is that people appreciate it enough that we can start growing it up, that we can think about what another trilogy would be like, what standalones would be like, and what TV would be like. I think that would be amazing.
“At this point, I don’t even think about it in the same way as movies or television.
The fact that Fear Street is a type of hybrid new thing is one of the best things about Netflix, which is also the case with the show itself.
I’m very enthusiastic about the prospect of what other things could take place.
It would appear that Fear Street has been successful for Netflix based on the fact that each instalment of the trilogy debuted as the streaming service’s most-watched movie in the world during the first weekend after it was made available, as this gives the impression that viewers around the world enjoyed the series.
Fear Street 4: More Details
There has been no word on when Fear Street 4 will be made available to the public.
Bloody Disgusting recently reported that the author of Fear Street, R.L. Stine, had a conversation with Yahoo! about rumours of more Fear Street movies being produced with Netflix.
Despite the fact that there are still no confirmations about the production of Fear Street, Bloody Disgusting recently reported that this conversation took place.
I have…heard whispers that there would be further Fear Street movies available on Netflix due to the success of the first ones last summer.
The fact that those movies were all classified R was a bit of a surprise to me because I’ve never worked on anything that was rated R before.
All of those adolescents were getting their throats cut. I thought to myself, “All of a sudden, I have a slasher movie!”
Even if there are no concrete plans for future Fear Street movies just yet, filmmaker Leigh Janiak has already indicated interest in continuing the franchise.
If the development of Fear Street 4 was able to continue covertly, then the release date of the film may be anywhere between the latter half of 2022 and the beginning of 2023.

Fear Street 4: Release Date
The first three episodes of the trilogy were released on Netflix in July 2021, and they revealed the story of the curse that had been affecting the people of Shadyside for many decades.
Every week there was a new movie that came out, beginning with “Part One,” which took place in 1994 and had its world premiere on July 2, followed by “Part Two,” which took place in 1978 and was released on July 8.
The concluding instalment of the film trilogy, which takes place in 1666 and was released on July 16th,
Actual viewing figures are more difficult to come by, which means that we’ll have to wait for an official word from Netflix in order to find out how successful the trilogy was.
This is especially true if Netflix waits to see if anyone binged the trilogy once all three movies were released, rather than releasing them one at a time.
As a consequence of this, Netflix has not as of yet officially confirmed anything about Fear Street Season 4, but we can surely hypothesise about what it may entail if it were to be formally confirmed.
Fear Street 4: Trailer
The Fear Street 4 promotional video has not yet been released. If all goes according to plan, we should be able to watch the teaser trailer a few months before the actual movie comes out.
The first three movies in the series were shot consecutively from March 2019 to September 2019, with a release in theatres scheduled for June 2020.
As a result of the ongoing international issue, the three films were removed from their original release date, and Netflix decided to purchase the trilogy at that time. After being delayed for approximately one year, the first instalments of the trilogy were made available online on July 2, July 9, and July 16 respectively.
We won’t be able to see the fourth movie until at the earliest 2022, and even that seems like a tight turnaround unless production starts soon.
This is assuming that they have not already secretly filmed the movie. If they want to maintain the summer release timetable, July 2023 seems like the more reliable prediction to make.
Naturally, the production schedule will be altered if they choose to adapt the next episode of Fear Street into a television series.
As a result, we may have to wait a little bit longer for the next instalment.
Fear Street 4: Cast
If the next instalment of Fear Street follows up right from the cliffhanger left by the third movie, then only a select few of the original cast members will be able to make a return appearance.
At the conclusion of Part 3, the primary characters that are still alive are Mrs. Lane, played by Kiana Madeira, Sam, played by Olivia Scott Welch, Ziggy, played by Gillian Jacobs, Josh, played by Benjamin Flores Jr., and Martin, played by Darrell Britt-Gibson (Jordana Spiro).
Fear Street 3: Review
It is also possible that each and every one of them is dragged into a new curse that is afflicting Shadyside; yet, this may have the potential to feel too similar to the first three books in the series.
We believe that it is more likely that a new movie (or show) based on Fear Street will take place in a different time setting, and Janiak has already been thinking about when this will take place.
She shared her thoughts with IndieWire, saying, “I actually started getting excited about a ’50s slasher movie, which I haven’t really watched and what it means.” “As a lover of horror, it’s always interesting to consider the many time periods and the various possibilities,”
Even though we are in a different age, it is still possible for characters to make cameo appearances, as we witnessed in Part 3 of the trilogy when we travelled all the way back to 1666.
Since Netflix has not yet provided official word on the matter, there is currently no footage available because the episode (most likely) has not yet been produced. You’ll have no choice but to watch all three parts of the trilogy again.
